I'd bring him in for Wanyama. I've watched Wanyama in a couple of games now and he's so wasteful. With passes, with shots, with everything. He does something brilliant about once in every 20 attempts and the rest is just awful.

Something I have noticed, with the January wildcard in mind:
First off, to me the obvious time to use the January wildcard is either after GW20 or after GW22.

So - all teams have 6 games scheduled between now and the end of GW20, and all teams have either:
    A) 4 Home + 2 Away or
    B) 2 Home + 4 Away.

The Home/Away rotation changes for some teams after GW 21 so for those wildcarding after GW22, teams have 8 games scheduled with either:
    A) 5 Home + 3 Away
    B) 3 Home + 5 Away
    C) 4 Home + 4 Away.

Particularly for someone wildcarding right at the start of January, a punt on say, Charlie Austin or Christian Benteke could bear fruit considering that they have 4 of the next 6 at home.

Come 2 weeks time, the "advantage" becomes more obvious, with guys like Austin and Benteke having 3 of the following 4 at home. Obviously home fixtures are no guarantee of success but it's a useful factor when considering mid-price attackers and budget defenders.

Long shot, but anyone have any insight into who will replace Morgan (suspended) at CB for Leicester this week? Reason I ask is I have that if Moore doesn't play I may not have 3 defenders so might have to take a -4. I'd play Moore if he's likely to play.

It is pure stubbornness and nothing else that has fellas saying that Cesc is the FPL equivalent of Hazard, he's been very lucky to pick up a lot of those assists and they will not continue at that rate, on the other hand Hazard has been very unlucky in comparison. I reckon there will be 50 points between them at seasons end. However as I said last night I am quite happy for Fab to be the favoured one. I honestly cannot believe that he is in over 50% of teams. It's bitten me in the ass frequently this year but I try to always look forward in this game.

Yeh I agree I think Hazard will start to pull away from Cesc as the season goes on. Might not be as high as 50 points but it will be pretty significant from here on out.

I love it Swiper you have a real conviction in this and have banged the drum all year. Ive had the two of them for 7 weeks now but would go hazard if I could only have 1.

How were a lot of the assists lucky?

Cesc was a points machine in the epl before leaving for Barca, I fancy him to continue to score heavily throughout the season.

For those who have Cesc since GW1, it's borderline whether it's worth it making the change imo.

I'm afraid that nobody will remember when I am inevitably proven right:p
I'll say it again and see if anyone bites, Fabregas is a deep lying midfielder, I don't look at stats but he never seems to shoot when I see him, he pulls the strings in the middle but in the long term this is always going to lead to more assisting the assists than anything else. He's seen a fair bit of his run of the mill play turned into assists this due to great finishing, we all remember the great assists like for Schurrle that time and the ball over the top against Arsenal(all Costa IMO).
Anyway ye should all stick with him as long as possible seeing ye're in the same leagues as me. I will be genuinely disappointed when he is booked as it will force the rest of ye to think hard and his recent returns won't be pretty enough for the wait.

Look there's merit to both. For those preserving value and having Fab from the start there's a great argument to keep. I was one of those and switched to Hazard and I'm very happy so far but am acutely aware that Cesc will pick up steady points

In the way that 9 times out of ten they wouldn't have resulted in goals were it not for excellent finishing, or a set piece delivery that wasn't particularly good resulting in a goal(just my own definition of luck there)

I banged this drum about Ozil last year also, very similar situation but I would have more expectation fromOzil to be honest as he plays in a more advanced position.

Sure I'm getting them from Milner and he only cost me about 5m:pac:

I would suggest backing Terry for anytime goal scorer this weekend just in case. Lemlin seems to have a crystal ball when it comes to Chelsea defenders if I recall!! :)

Problem with Terry is that last season showed that he doesn't even need to score to get goal points!

I'm taking Cesc out this weekend. I can only have three Chelsea which will be a defender, Hazard and Costa.

I had Cesc GW1 to 11 and thank him for his points and 0.4m I banked. Have had Hazard since GW10 and have been really happy with his output. If I look to add another Chelsea midfielder, it will be Oscar and not Cesc. I don't think the latter is a bad pick but he's not worth the 9.8m price tag.

Then if he improves his not particularly good set piece deliveries, he could score even better.

Would be wary of Zab being a rotation risk, Sagna might get a game or 2 over the Christmas.

Thinking about Fabregas out and Eriksen in for Spurs (if there is such a thing with Spurs) favourable fixtures.

Gives me the funds to get Costa back in as well, just in case he goes mad again

    Very good post.

This is something I started to monitor when I did my GK analysis. Austin and Benteke have indeed not only 3 home games out of 4 but they are (very) favourable fixtures too . City also have the best run you could hope for.

Riveting transfer this week, Forster to Guzan, Forster has been rotting on the bench so it was time to free up some funds, couldn't do it prior to now with all the points hit I had to absorb with injuries. Team is finally looking a little more settled.

Might get Yaya in next week, though that means having to ship out Sanchez, not sure I want to pull the trigger on that just yet.

The stats are (heavily) on your side. As am I! You are spot on to re Fab and the suspension. Really hoping he makes it to the deadline without the yellow.

But let's start keeping it on the downlow!

Right lads, I have a bit of dilemma here on who I get in for Ayoze. It's between Kane and Austin.
If I go with Kane I can, over the next few weeks, also do
    Downing -> Silva
    Fab -> Hazard
and I can sort out my bench for the christmas fixtures, with .7 to spare.
If I go with Austin, while he is more likely to score points and has 5 home games in his next 8, it limits what I can do elsewhere in my team. I can do only one of the above and have just .1 to spare.
So what do people think I should do?

Yeah, I've liked having Baines in my team, but I think it's time we part ways. Might bring in Azpi. Might just wait until Jan WC to do so cause I think I need to sort out Chadli and Fab first! (already have Haz).

Great point. Did a bit of analysis of my current team to see who had more home or aways....

    Foster (WB) Away
    Chambers (Ars) Away
    Terry (Che) Away
    Cresswell (WH) Home
    Hazard (Che) Away
    Siggy (Swans) Away
    Sanchez (Ars) Away
    Fellaini (MU) Away
    Aguero (Che) Home
    Rooney (MU) Away
    Kane (Spu) Home

    Usual Subs:
    Myhill (WB) Away
    Taylor (Swans) Away
    Larsson (Sun) Away
    Moore (Lei) Away

Only 3 of my players have more homes than away!!!

The teams with more homes are:
    Man City
    Newcastle
    Hull
    Liverpool
    QPR
    Spurs
    Stoke
    West Ham
    Villa
    Southampton
