What's my satellite dish

    Hi there,

    I'm moving house soon to a house that has a dish attached to it - see the pic attached to the thread.

    Can you tell from looking at it if it's a dish I could use to get Free-To-Air channels or similar?

    In case it's not obvious from above, I'm pretty new to satellite TV so generally clueless about it.

    That's a rusty old Sky dish, provided everything's in working order you'll get the FTA/Freesat channels

    It looks like a quad LNB on the arm with 4 cables attached - this could be driving between 2 and 4 TV socket points. Where you have two live sockets in a room you can use a PVR (personal video recorder) to watch one channel while recording another. This will determine what sort of satellite box you should be considering.

    (Assuming it works of course - if it doesnt you can buy a new dish and quad LNB on ebay, from an Irish supplier for as little as 23.99 incl postage)
