It not exactly a shock that if you lump a big high ball down on top of fellaini that hel be effective. Yes he's the man you want against physical stoke or against soft arsenal, still don't think you can have fellaini in midfield if your looking to be champions or compete in the latter stages of the champions league in the future.

I know il get destroyed now because he is flavour of the month but he wouldn't be near any top European midfield

Yeah or international...oh wait. Fellaini is a Yaya Toure type player without as strong a burst but less stroppy. I'd say he's a better short passer and first touch but Yaya is better at long passing and striking. Having someone like that running around in CM can be a huge plus to any team.

He's about the same size as Yaya toure. That's where the similarities end

Better away form instead of 13th in the league and we'd be laughing 19/24 possible points at home this season compared with 6/18 away from home.

Well they both have legs too. And they both play football.

For teams in Manchester. They probably love in the same neighbourhood too I'd say.

He's gotten exceptionally far for a footballer with no legs.

I would say Fellaini is currently Van Gaals first midfield name on the team sheet and will be for the foreseeable future.

His height and lump long balls to him argument is really lazy and doesnt reflect his full skill set as a footballer.

Ok lads, he's playing well, that's for sure. All I'm saying is United will never win anything if fellaini is the man in midfield

No, Fellaini plays football professionally for Manchester United, one of the world's biggest clubs and the Belgian National team, one of the biggest international teams in the world.

Just on Fellaini being out wider right for the second half, it was pretty obvious that that was to negate Bojan and Assaidi who were both operating down that side of the field at times before Bojan switched inside at one point. We also played a bit of a lopsided formation to allow Young the freedom of the left hand side because Ireland, playing on the right hand side of their five, is not a right sided midfielder. And judging on last night he's a bit averse to tracking back at all. Just the simple fact of our formation means somebody has to go out and help the full back when he's being doubled up on.

Haha United fans eh. The standards around the place have seriously dropped. I suppose 4th place is successful these days and fellaini is the measure of a quality United player these days.

Moyes really messed ye lot up!!!

Avoid relegation and I'll be happy, it's all about staying up and trying to hang on to Fellaini when Madrid come calling.

Fellaini is doing incredibly well, he is a not world class by any means but is a solid squad player and when called upon for the last month or so he has done a great job, he is great at breaking up opposition play has a decent touch and is a beast in the air. The negative opinion of him is merely down to timing and how he was signed by Moyes after a shambles of a transfer window which had united apparently in for Vidal, Fabregas and Thiago. If Fellaini was signed this summer along with everyone else United got in I think he would be favoured very differently.

I'm going to start using this a lot around work/mates when disagreeing.
He makes good points and all, but I'm not going to lie, it was the primary reason I thanked the post.

We're getting mocked by a Newcastle fan now?

Jesus the standards are really dropping around here.

Young should be given 5 lashes every time he crosses the ball without looking up, it's really frustrating that we have some of the best finishers in the world but we resort to aimless crosses
