Hot Water Tank - Sizing Help?

Hi,

I'm looking to replace the existing hot water tank which is heated by a gas boiler (not a combi boiler) so that my pregnant girlfriend can have a bath.
The current tank is too small and I'm wondering if a 36 x 18 cylinder will suffice? 36 x 18 holds 117 litres and going for an even bigger tank will take some knocking of walls which I'd like to avoid!

I've measured the bath and it's 1300mm x 500mm x 300mm up to the overflow hole. That's 195 litres. A person should displace about 40 litres I've calculated. So I've 155 litres to fill.
Will 117 litres of hot water be enough mixed with cold water??

Any help appreciated.

36" x 18" is a grand sized cylinder and will be more than sufficient, if you have a cylinder stat ensure it is about 55 degrees. The only other consideration to make is the amount of people in the house now and in the future. But for yourselves and a future baby that cylinder is fine.

36 inch will be fine. Also make sure it's a rapid recovery cylinder with a 50mm insulation on it. The radip recovery coil will half the reheat time of the cylinder.
