Internal door locked, won't unlock...

...an internal door is locked. Have tried the easy options, sprayed it with wd40, but key broke off. Took off the front and handle but can't access the unit that contains the deadbolt. Tried a second key and that's now just broken too! Any ideas short of taking an axe to it and getting a new door? Wonder could I drill into the unit holding the deadbolt and break it up or would that only compound the problem.

Since it is an internal door it might be a basta or Union two lever lock. If it is you can go into most hardware stores and they will give you a loan of every combination of each. Then just go home and try each key. So many times this has saved me having to do damage to a door or frame.

Small tip: mark each key you try as they are usually all bunched together on some twine.
