Riello burner starts intermittently

    Hi. Riello 40 burner needs a reset a few times to fire up. Half tank of oil. Once boiler fires up its fine. Seems to b first thing in the morning when its cold. Fires up fine later on in the day.

    lots of reasons for the above but if first thing in the morning I would suspect the boiler is overaired but usually they don't go to lock out but present with a constant attempt to fire up

    OK tks for your help. It can say after 20-30 mins then fire up but most of the time i have to keep resetting. When u say overaired why can b donevto fix it. Parts or service? Tks

    Get somebody to service it and hopefully they can identify the problem during the service. Make sure they use a flue gas analyser

    I would go with a service and set it up right as jim says lots of possible causes but that would be the first place to start

    its recommended to press the reset button twice only for a reason if its an intermittent ignition issue you could be pooling kero in the combustion chamber

    its a bit of advice I got when I started from an old guy who was at it years

    so now if I get a call to a breakdown the first thing I do is pull the burner and check for fuel in the combustion chamber I have only seen it twice in 6 years
