My diet

I am so grumpy when I can't eat. All I can think about now is a white baguette with butter and a little bit of ketchup, sausages sliced in half, bacon medallions and two hash browns..... And a big mug of tea

I am half thinking about getting a really nice salad for lunch. Place nearby does one with leaves, toasted goats cheese, walnuts etc. Though it's a small fortune

I got two garlic chicken Kievs, four scoops of mash, some broccoli, a handful of wedges and a drop a' gravy yesterday out of the local Centra deli for a fiver. Daycint.

It's that time of year when my neighbours try to outdo each other with home improvement, as God forbid you might have the same kitchen/bathroom as you did when people dropped in for a few drinks last Christmas.:rolleyes: Not 1 van outside the house but 3 ffs. Mr Pumpkinseeds is trying to sleep as he's on nights this week. Feck all chance of that with drills and lump hammers going 3 doors down.:(

So the other 2 houses in the terrace will have to up there game to compete, be interesting to see who gets on the bandwagon next week.

Same! Pretty sure that's how Enid Blyton spelt it too... I wanted to taste macaroons from a childhood of reading Five Find Outers and a dog... I was sort of disappointed with them

Quick google says they are macaroons in English. I know on the med they call them macrons, but that's a dif language obviously.

I'm TAd this morning, because baby slept 9 hours straight last night, woke at 6 am though and I'm wrecked and he prob wont sleep at all tonight. The impending exhaustion is making me cranky early!

. Except for my little one is almost 3 FFS! If she sleeps through, which is rare, she is up at the crack of dawn, can't win. I think it must be Mother Nature's dirty little trick on me. Look at her now, having a child again in her late 30s, let's give her a little tornado, who rarely sleeps, just to really f**k her up. Muah ha ha haaaa!! Jesus, I need coffee quick before playschool ends....

Spare a thought for us. It looks like Great-Uncle Thorsten is visiting this year, from his cabin near the Stavanger Fjord, and bringing his 18-foot wrought iron Gjallarhorn, nicknamed "The Thirsty Animal". Attempted upselling in cafes! There is one I frequent where one particular guy, the owner I think, will always try to get you to add something to your order. So, if you order salads, he'll ask can he get you a soup or a sandwich to go with it. Thanks for clarifying that I can order more than one thing from the menu or realising that yes, I had actually forgotten to order half my lunch!

This morning I order a fruit scone and he asked would I like a coffee with it. Nope, but thanks for the offer! How about a fruit juice? Nope again! However he wasn't done there and probed further to see if I would in fact like a cheese scone to accompany my fruit scone. WTF?!

But I'll let him away with it, because the food is incredible and great value to compared to most other places I frequent

My 9 month old wakes at least 3 times a night just for the soother. It's glow in the dark find it yourself !gah!
Then he tosses about in his sleep and wakes everyone including himself. He's a nightmare sleeper. I thought I drew a bad straw when I found out oh snored but now I think I'm destined to never sleep well again.

I just hate when I'm teased with a few straight hours....

Luas related:

Squashed onto the Luas this morning and all I can smell is other peoples' morning breath.

People not moving right into the tram to enable people waiting on the platform to get on.

Equally, all of us squahed in like sardines and some w*nker decides to force his way on so some of us are only being kept upright by the strangers beside us.

Waiting for 5 minutes for the tram going to Stephen's Green and in that space of time 4 pass heading in the other direction and all of them with only a handful of people on board, while ours arrives almost full to the brim.

The lift at the Dundrum stop being out of order on a regular basis. Apparently someone keeps setting fire to it and it then takes ages to repair. Who does that???? It's a nightmare trying to negotiate the steps there with a buggy

A new coffee shop opened locally a few years ago, and the first time I was there I overheard the owner reprimanding one of the staff for not upselling. It wouldn't work with me anyway, I just want coffee, and lots of it!
