Hi I will be in the Kinsale after Christmas and weather permitting I am hoping to get two rounds of golf.
I would love to play the old head would anyone know what would be the best rate we would get. Where else within a 30 min drive would be worth trying. I have played Fota Island but not Cork Golf club or Douglas. We would not pay much more than 50 euro pp for winter golf. What are our chances for getting the old head at that rate. Would they have a husband &wife rate or early bird rate?
What other option should I look at .

I'm pretty sure the Old Head is closed for the off season.

Kinsale GC is a nice enough course but Cork Golf Club is a must play course so I'd go there, not sure what the winter rate.

Castlemarty would bethe stand out value course and generally holds up very well in the winter.

Old Head is closed until April.
Castlemartyr, Cork Golf Club and Monkstown all worth a look. However if the weather takes a turn, few courses can hold up as well as Fota

Another course not too far from kinsale is Bandon G.C which in my opinion is one of the the most underated courses in cork and always in great condition.you would get a game for around €30

I'd agree. Bandon is a nice track and close enough to Kinsale. Kinsale GC itself is a tough enough test, well maintained and probably you'd get out for €20. I think Cork GC should be kept for better weather to enjoy it more but the steak dinner there is always worth the trip.
