Golf Net SMS Service Terminated....

    For anyone who doesnt know, Golf Net rang a SMS (text message) service where you texted your GUI number to a mobile number and within a minute you would receive a text like this

    "Hi to David O'Sullivan from the GUI. Your exact handicap is 12.0 (Last update: 31/10/14). FORE! Home/Car Ins 1850465337"

    This service is now been terminated on December 31st

    Anyone else gonna miss this?
    I found it very handy during the summer when playing different comps during the week and if you didnt have internet access to check your handicap.
    It saved me one day where i just sent to check just to be sure and i have got cut .5 in general play which changed my handicap. If i didnt check i would have had to DQ myself

    it will be a sad day when this closes for the 'older' gui member who doesn't use the internet ever 30 secs like the rest of us.

    Great service. I will miss it greatly. Was fantastic for organising club teams
