    im considering buying an unused second hand laptop , this was a present so the seller does not posses the purchase receipt , I was wondering if the warranty is transferable

    I'd say no.

    You need to have proof of purchase with date to use your warranty. So there is no warranty for you if you don't get original receipt for it.
