So had planned to put mine up the last Saturday night in November but heard today that my Aunts birthday party is on that night.

So just need to decide if it goes up the Saturday before now or the Saturday after.

I want to get a real tree this year so I'm thinking of waiting till mid December, I'm afraid of it starting to wither, I need it looking good up until New Years for a party I'm planning.

My neighbour has their decorations up since yesterday! It's not too early for them!

I'm still waiting until the end of the month to do it. I love christmas but the decorations lose their spark if they are left up too long.

Not too early to go decorations shopping though ;)

Our tree usually goes up first couple of days of December, might even push it to 30th November this year the way the weekend falls. As usual, it will have way too many lights, tinsel and decorations. Nothing even the slightest bit classy about our tree and I love it.

They are the BEST kind of trees though :D

    I love Christmas.

I get all the presents sorted early so I can soak up the atmosphere in town when the decorations are up and everything is in full Christmas swing.

But I try to avoid it until after the 8th of December or after because it makes the short time it's there all that bit more special to me.

I don't want decorations and the tree to have blended in with everything else by the time it gets to the last week or two before Christmas.

No such thing as too many lights!! :D

I'm thinking toy show in the back ground, and us putting up the tree will be nice..

Plenty of time to get into the spirit that way before it all has to come down..

Must plan my day off for the 28th now - get up early and do a big clean of the house from top to bottom, then get the decs down from the attic and start making the house look like Christmas threw up on it :pac:

For us, the first weekend in December is normally christmas tree weekend. We usually make a big deal of it, bring the doggies for a long walk, go have lunch, go to the newbridge silver shop to choose one new decoration then pick up a tree on the way home. Light a big fire, put on some Christmassy songs, open some wine and put the tree up then order a takeaway. Not sure how it'll happen this year though, maybe we will develop some new traditions :) definitely will have to get a fake tree this year anyway.

Anything before December I would worry we would get fed up of the tree before Christmas. I resist doing anything Christmassy until that weekend then throw myself into the thick of it. Can't wait!

But you're "doing something Christmassy" by being on here talking about it ;):p

Wife wants it up this weekend which breaks my 'put it up when the Toy show is on' tradition. I'm at wits end telling her its too damn early but I'm giving in and getting on with my life :/

People are really eager this year to get the decorations up! I'm kind of hyperventilating a bit now cos I'm not ready and it's only 2 weeks away!:pac:

Gawd I am dying for the 28th to come around. Myself and my bf are getting a take away, watching the toy show, with some beers and I will decorate the house during the day so it shall be all nice and Christmassy for the toy show that night. I can't wait for it.

I'n dying to pull out the decorations now though and start going through them so I can decide what will go where.

I have these lights and a very small Xmas tree that sits on a small table and was thinking of putting these lights on the wall behind it, in the porch? I dunno though, some days I think it'll look nice, then other times I think it'll look tacky.
