    I know that for the UK & Ireland money that is won through gambling is not taxed at all;
    But I was just curious is it the same for other countries within the European Union?

    The only country I know of that certainly taxes gambling money is the USA.

    So does anybody here know what other countries in Europe do and do not tax a person's
    winnings that are won through gambling?

    Gambling in Holland is completely state regulated.

    Casino's are state owned
    Lotto and Toto (very limited football gambling) is state owned.

    Used to be that any winnings would set you up for 25% tax on of winnings over a Dfl 1000. (€450)

    Unibet and Bwin are the only 2 bookies for on line gambling available since a few years. More are coming apparently

    Not that i know of.

    Whenever i am in Holland, i still use my online bookies here, so it is not really an issue.

    When signing up with bet365 i got a bit of hassle due to their KYC not accepting Dutch passports.
