That's my point. The shop is pretentious. Why would anybody support such an establishment? I enjoy if I am in a store and realise their attitude is snobbish. Then I have a good look at a few products and decide by they are not good enough for us. There are shops I can very well afford to buy in but I refuse to use them because of their pretensions. Others I use are top flight shops but don't care what you wear as long as you will buy from them - my kind of store. But I still think nobody should avoid going to a shop because of what the "staff" might think of your appearance. Only going in when you think you meet their standards is only feeding their bias.

Pretentious fcuks! Noticed it a bit in boutiques down the country and in some of the posh shops in Dundrum. Fcuk off, cnuts! You're shopping assistants ffs, don't look down your nose at me.

I remember when I was an insecure teen and the staff in BT beauty hall made me feel inadequate because they were wearing lab coats. Later when I got a lab coat and actually used it for it's intended purpose I realised how silly and false the whole thing was.

Sometimes you can smell the desperation off people working on commission a mile away. :(

It's like the time I walked into a car showrooms and asked about some new cars. The salesman said " we'd have none you can afford". I left without a word and went to a showrooms nearby, did a deal for cash on a new car which was more expensive than any in the previous garage. When I collected it I called in to the first place and politely asked the salesman what he thought I could afford now. I got 2 letters from the garage apologising and offering me a great deal in the future - no chance.

I would either do without the shoes if I felt demanded by the store or go and get them just how I am and to heck with what they might think I look like. They are only people in a shop. What does their opinion of you matter as long as you buy and keep them in a job? It's no it as though you have to live with them. They are strangers.

But they're mean. I remember buying makeup from one of the counters there, I'd just come out of college and I looked terrible. I was standing waiting for about 15 minutes, and nobody would come help me. And when i interrupted the sales assistants chats, one turned around, glared at me and told me someone would be with me in a minute. I think it was the same day I was standing in front of one of the mirrors and the sales assistant asked me to move out of her way and then started fixing her own makeup.

I've never gone into that store since, looking ****. And it does make a difference!

Well you're Premenstrual and Postmenstrual, I don't know what's up with the rest of the days.

I just trivially annoyingly had one of my "optical illusions". They only happen when I'm in the car. I'm behind a car, waiting to pull out of a side road. A car pulls into the side road, as I'm waiting, and whatever way I look at it, out of the side of my eye, I get the sensation I'm rolling backwards:(. Got some fright, as there was a car behind me. It happened another time, when I was parked up in the lashing rain. Whatever way I looked at the rain running down the windscreen, I thought I was rolling backwards. Please tell me it happens to more of you, or am I just a big weirdo?

I've had stalkers less creepy than that.

:D:D Oh yes! Almost exactly the same.
Only I'm older and ugler than Julia Roberts.
I showed the clip to my wife and she is still laughing at how like the car incident it is.

And I have changed the car every 2 years since - 14 cars in total so far - so that salesman lost plenty of commission.

Na, just an observation. I've better things to be doing than trying to psychologically evaluate random internet strangers. ;)

My only rants for the day.
    Pregnant women

Rant could have ended here :D
The amount of mud running off the rail bridge works around the corner from me, it is absolutely fcuking disgusting and there is literally no other way to get to the tube apart from walking straight past it. I will happily kick in the nutsack whoever decided that doing this through the autumn was a good idea.

But it is Winter now no?

I can't stand revisionists and those who try to subvert truth, by apportioning blame where it doesn't belong.
