Car Radio That Plays Podcasts From Iphone

Is there a car radio out there which I can link up to my iphone that I can play podcasts/music off us. At the moment I am using an adapter that connects from the iphone to the cigarette lighter part of the car. However, this is affecting the car's battery. Are there any alternatives ye guys would recommend. Thanks x

Two options, Bluetooth or direct connection to the stereo (with a cable like this...)

Any radio with a USB or aux port should do the trick.
I've a parrot kit installed in the car and while it was expensive I've used it almost every day since I got it installed 3 years ago, can play all my Spotify music, podcasts and listen to skygo.

Do you have a link to that? I genuinely haven't an inkling to any of this car radio mumbo jumbo. So this doesn't affect the car's battery?

Thanks for that. Unfortunately, I wouldn't have the money to shell out for the parrot kit. My budget would be 100 euros or that.

I have an aux cable coming from the rear of the radio that connects to this bluetooth receiver. I had to get a particular aux cable for Renault, but the set up works a treat. Charge the receiver through usb from the cigarette lighter once in a while, usually holds a long charge.

Sorry I haven't a scooby doo when it comes to this stuff. I obviously still would need a bluetooth radio I assume? Would radio do you have?

Swap out the stereo in your car for this and you need never concern yourself with wires or connectors again. You music/podcasts/calls will play via bluetooth through the car speakers. The stereo is the only thing using the cars battery.

Make sure your car doesn't have an in-built stereo - i.e. one that is built into the console. You want to be able to pull out your current stereo (head unit) and swap it for the one above. The folks in Halfords would be able to advise you, too.

I use cable above (3.5mm to 3.5mm jack) cost €2 in Electrocity. 10 yr old Mondeo, Aux connection was hiding in back of glove box for some reason. Plays podcasts etc direct from iPhone or iPod. Doesn't affect car battery. Cheap as chips & works perfectly.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, that seems to tick all the boxes but is this as good a price as I'll get? With Xmas coming around I am gonna find it hard to shell out over 100 quid for this.

You'd normally get one in Aldi or Lidl for around €50 that'll do everything you need.

Had one in my last car for 2 years and never a bother. Automatically synced to the iphone when I sat in, and could control everything from the radio.
