Quick one - is plywood itself airtight - I know joints would need to be taped with airtight tape but would I need to cover face of wood with airtight membrane?

...only caveat on that is: not all plywoods are the same. I would expect BB grade plywood to be resistant (higher quality), but off the shelf WPB can be all over the place (e.g. Chinese imports). Very caveat, very emptor with ply.

We use a lot of ply (for a non-construction product), and we will only use highest grade Birch through & through plywood from Latvia. It's fantastic.

But Chinese/Brazilian stuff I wouldn't let inside the gate.
