Like the majority!! Though it will be interesting to see how the Saints fair with their tougher set of fixtures. I'm tempted to hold on to Clyne i reckon they can still pull a few clean sheets and Clyne will always chip in with the odd attacking return.

True. If Tadic doesn't perform in the next 2 GWs though he'll have been the disaster everyone said he would be in the aftermath that was the Sunderland bonanza.

I'll get my creative cap on later and figure something out anyway. Hopefully you'll have Mick and a cup of tea ready too :D

For a player of his quality? At home to Crystal Palace? Madness!:pac:

Wasnt meant in that sense at all. I was waiting for a drop in price which would have made getting him in sweeter.

He's just going to miss out on one now which means that a poor return at the weekend and he'll drop fast, and could be subject to another drop or two during int break. Changes things quite a bit

ah i knew where you coming from :pac: :pac: alternatively a good return well may see his price rise again. just got in Rooney to go with ADM - doubled up in United attack but am confident enough with this with upcoming fixtures in mind

Not right now. He'd be my 4th mid.

I'm neither cash rich nor do I have my precious little wealth in easily moved assets.

I'm contemplating a -8 which would feature Sanchez, Downing and downgrading Bardsley as an alternative. I've got both PVA and Moore who may have lost his place which screams use the WC but I'd be ditching Tadic and De Gea who I'd like for another week so if I can find a mid for 5.0 I'd be happy with for a few weeks before I ultimately will WC soon it'd be ideal.

I'm so glad I didn't stick to my original ambitions to hold onto my wildcard as long as possible. :D

It really seems to be a bit of a millstone around your neck at this stage if you don't mind me saying it.

Yeah, I think I'm gonna leave him.

United have averaged 1.6 goals per game, and only scored more than 2 goals on two occasions (QPR and Leicester). They meanwhile blanked twice (Man City and Burnley!). For completeness their doubles were WBA, West Ham and Everton and the scored once against Chelsea and Sunderland.

I'm not sure where this perception that United are scoring bagfuls of goals came from.

For comparison Chelsea have averaged 2.6 goals, and scored more than 2 on 4 occasions.

Man City have averaged 2.0 per game and more than 2 goals on three occasions.

Arsenal average 1.8 and more than 2 twice.

The wildcard does my head in I can't get rid of it quick enough. I'll be activating the next one at 1131 on Jan 1.

At a guess, how many do you think United will score over the next 4 gw's?

I'd imagine they could increase on their current average, but would be surprised if they break 2.0 per game average over the next 4.

3 v Palace is not unlikley.
    1-2 v Arsenal
    1-2 v Hull
    1-2 v Stoke

Wellbeck out and Sahko in, might make a second to ship Mannone

It really is and I've never kept it so long. A good chance it will be used in November though. As it was in October and September :o

I should have used it when I was looking at Baines, Sanchez et al about 3 GWs ago straight after Nolan-gate! Oh well I'll get ahead of the next curve instead :)

we'll see. but there's loads of different ways to look at stats, isn't there? for example, gw4-8 United scored 13 goals, which ain't bad is it? 2 games since then have been Chelsea at home and City away, neither of which i expected to be high-scoring tbh. now the fixtures get nice again. you know what'll happen tho. if United tonk Palace this weekend there'll be a rush to get the big points scorer(s) in

I certainly don't think they're getting bagfuls I'm afraid to say. But I do think that Di Maria will score bagfuls of points.

Imo, Di Maria is a very good signing as he is highly likely to be involved in the 1.6 goals for United. At present, you would have to say those goals are there to be shared between himself and Rooney on the whole.

That's in complete contrast with Arsenal (I feel like I'm a broken record with this one) imo. There are at least 5 or 6 good players there to be sharing the points between each other. They are scoring slightly more goals but it'll be spread around

I expect Di Maria to outscore Sanchez by some bit this season. I don't think it's a coincidence that his best weeks have come when they were hit hard by injuries.

Aguero and 2 Chelsea attackers probably should be standard.

There has been no confirmation about this op yet its just speculation. If he does need an op though its a no brainer he gets it down after the liverpool game.

    Contemplating a 3-5-2

    Boyd to Hazard
    Costa to Zamora

It will allow me to improve my defence too with the money ITB a Wilson or Hutton to a Swansea defender who will have favourable fixtures coming soon!

That would be a very brave move I wouldn't consider zamaro though he struggles with a hip injury I think so couldn't see him play every week.

Have also been messing about with a 3-5-2 team.
It would be very appealing if Costa was to go for this operation that your man in the daily mail made up :)

Aguero & Mid Price & Zamora will give you a dream team of midfielders.

1 Newcastle defender is enough or go with Elliot instead of Jakupovic. That way if Krul gets injured or suspended you still have a playing keeper. Moore seems to have lost his place so if you can go Moore and Taylor to Wisdom and Vlaar would give you a much better defence for .9m more. If you don't have much left in the bank you probably will have to downgrade Bertrand to afford these. The attack looks strong. I would much prefer Boyd to Cork as he is more assured of a starting place. Question marks over Costa but he is lethal when on form so no real worries there yet.

I'm not sure I would be buying Siggy now for 6.7m. A couple more blanks and his price will plummet right before his fixtures turn. If you don't mind a West Ham double up you could go for Downing to free up funds to upgrade the defence.

Best defense option at 5.5? Could double up on Saints

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,236 ✭✭✭qwabercd

Any thoughts/advice on my wildcard team?

Weak defense but it's a good attack IMO. Got rid of fan and siggy which I could regret. McNair is a risk and with all the injuries utd defense will be poor. Moore the only real alternative. Only heaton in goals is a bit dodgy too but keepers are very tough to pick and I'm cash strapped.

Not overly gone on it myself to be honest.

Ben Foster is another option instead of Krul to diversify

I'll be ditching Clyne and Bertrand in a couple weeks and if I don't go super cheap or upgrade to Azpi, I'm looking at Federico Fernandez or a West Ham defender. Clichy at 5.3m is also nailed on with Kolarov out for a month.

Excellent spot mate - QPR, SWA, SOU in the next 3 too.

Lads, looking to get rid of Begovic in goal. Any thoughts on replacements for 5.2 or less? Have Wisdom already so not keen on Foster. Krul the obv choice. Thoughts on Adrian, fixtures look great but only 1 cs so far.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,748 ✭✭✭Swiper the fox

I debated fiercely with myself before deciding against Clichy, his attacking returns are fairly pathetic, 3 of the next four games are away from home and their is a good chance that Kolorov will return for the fourth at which point nobody wants Clichy in their teams. I would say he'll need to pick up a lot of points in those next three games to make it a worthwhile transfer, I'm in a similar boat and am now considering a West Ham defender, they will tighten up at the back soon enough.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,066 ✭✭✭✭PARlance

Not that it's worth considering, but with Rojo (6.0) injured, he should drop in price while he's out.

If that happens, all United's defenders and keepers will be less than 6.0.
That's a sign of the times and has to be a first in FPL for United.

Im gonna keep begovic for the next two weeks. Not expecting much from spurs this weekend, though theres a slim chance of a europa league induced clean sheet. Hes at home to burnley next week though, which is as good a fixture as youre gonna get. After that ill prob swap him for fabianski who has a nice run of fixtures until jan and has bagged a few clean sheets already
