I watched it for a bit around 5 am. He played some nice steady stuff until he hit it in the drink on 9. Completely killed his momentum

Finished T16 with a prize money of 131,400 euro. @vc606 has him at 51st when new rankings come out. Getting nearer the goal.

Jesus that's crazy money for coming 16th!

Ah c'mon Shane! I hope that 51st is right. Nearly there. Having a great season. Some big events still to go, and while it depends on how others go, but in this form, he should make the top 50 by year end.....and get a nice Christmas card from America.

I think that might be race to Dubai points rather than prize money even though its listed as so in official result.

€73,400 give or take a few Euro according to my calculations.

Really really want to see him in a few of the bigger pga events next year :).

Confirmed in 51st, one spot ahead of Ernie :P
Not sure yet but points wise he may actually be farther from 50th as Senden had a good week in CIMB.

Anyway some surprising stats from Shane this week, 60th in greens in regulation but 1st in both putts and putts in greens in regulation!

If he was poor in GIR then he's most likely (short or just missed the green and) chipping from in and around the green and therefore putting from closer range to the hole which would falsely improve his putting stats, still the 1st in GIR is very good, no messing with that stat!

Big tournaments coming up now so it will be a dog fight to get in to the top 50, but if he keeps playing as he has, I would be hopeful he'll make it.

Well that was a disaster, only 3 players in the field worse than him after a 78. Hopefully just a bad day, would be a bad time to go off the boil.

Didn't see that, but what a dreadful card. Very disappointing.

One of those days you would hope.

Use the next few rounds as preparation for the next few weeks. 1 bad week in these events is not the end of the world.

No but these are crucial weeks, crucial opportunities which can't be squandered.

Impressive from Shane today to recover like that. Plenty of top players seem to be struggling.

Much better today with a 69, back in top 50 with plenty scope to move forward over the weekend. That 8th is a struggle for him, a 7 and a 6. Still Scott had a 9 on it today!!

Good man, Shane. Delighted to see that effort. He won't win this, but hopefully this is his 'bad round' out of the way!

Ah no Shane......slippage on day three, back to tied 51st. Didn't watch any of this.....roll on next week and golf at more a more sociable time on TV.

68 today for a respectable finish, had 8 birdies but unfortunately another 7 on the 8th. 25 shots on the hole over the 4 rounds :(

Will this get him into the top 50?

Can someone do the calculations (which are beyond me!) - what's his likely ranking now?

Read somewhere yesterday he needed a top 20 finish to break top 50
    Threading water I'd say

What would be more worrying rather than whether he scored enough points himself, but how many points the likes of Tim Clark, Iwata, Coetzee and Olesen might have picked up for this. He could end up being further out than 51

15th in race to Dubai, 2 more events and if he stays top 20 he gets into the first WGC event at Blue Monster, Doral.

Let's just hope that this week was just a blip. Looking forward to Turkey - at least it is on at a civilised time so I'll get to watch it.

I think he'll probably stay in 51st position unless someone close behind him in the rankings gets a very high placing in one of the other events that are on this weekend.

34th place will get him 2.78 points and he'll lose around 1.57 points due to the adjustment factor that is appled from 13 weeks onwards. His total tournaments played will remain at 51, so his average points will increase by approximately .024. He was .1245 behind John Senden in 50th, so this won't be enough to get him into the top 50.

Ernie Els, who was in 52nd, finished behind Shane so he will have slightly increased the gap between him and Ernie. On the other hand, Blixt, Levy and Oosthuizen all finished tied 14th and will all move closer to Shane in the rankings. Tim Clark's 2nd place finish will move him up to around 56th in the rankings.

So it looks like it's going to be very tight around the fringes of the top 50 between now and year end.

The €200,000 earned in China will help the bank balance.

Overall a good final 3 rounds after a poor first round.

Consider the start he had to the season, he's flying now.

Id doubt he won that much Charlie, sounds more like race to Dubai points.
For example last week was $7million prize fund but 10million race to Dubai points.
