Is anyone without Sanchez considering not getting him, and waiting a week or two for Walcott?

I can't help but feel that I've missed the boat (pointswise) on that one, and Walcott is 1.6m less.

Would be swapping for ADM, but I can't help but feel that in terms of the players I need to get rid of, Siggy is more of a concern than ADM.

Not getting him in until after the international break at earliest.

I understand your point but the problem with this situation is if Sánchez continues his glorious run (and well he has the talent for it, in 3 seasons in La Liga with Barça he scored 39 goals for 25 assists in 88 games and that with Messi being the focus of everything there) you could be priced out and if his ownership continues to rocket that'd be an uncomfortable situation not to have him.

That's why I took a -4 last night. Sanchez could easily be above 11 mil after the international break.

This is the thing with sanchez of all the mids he is one of the very few along with walcott imo that is capable of hitting 20 league goals in a season.I reckon I'll be going with both players when walcotts fit. Assists are great but the 2 pt difference for a goal for a midfielder makes a big difference. He is now playing in behind Wellbeck rather than wide and when Walcott gets in the team I can see sanchez playing the odd time as the striker.

I wouldn't say it's phenomenal...Suarez last season was phenomenal. In the 6 games he's scored in, he's only scored once in 4 of them and has been in the bonus points on only 3 occasions. In FF terms, I think he will offer consistent returns but I don't think he will ever reach the explosive heights some are expecting of him and that Aguero and perhaps Sanchez are capable of.

The only game he hasn't scored in was City (A) and QPR (H). I doubt many would captain him for City away so really he has only stung people badly once with the armband.

He's gotten 17 points in one game, Sanchez's highest was 16 (which he's done twice!). He's the front man for the team that are very likely to win the league and blow a few teams out of the water along the way. He's a more reliable captain than Sanchez in the long run IMO (I own both).

Aguero is the man as he has penalties also. He's the number 1 captain choice IMO. Costa is second. I'd put Sanchez third but a distant enough third which might seem a bit mad to say given his current form. I've always preferred captaining strikers though so I'm inherently biased that way I guess.

I think his form has been phenomenal given that he essentially didn't require any 'gelling' period. He started 6,6,12,17 which is fairly insane, IMO.

I'm a believer anyway. As long as he stays fit I'll be captaining him when Chelsea are at home unless Aguero is also at home. I sleep easier having obvious captain choices!

    Need some advice guys:

    I've done Sigurdsson -> Downing.

    Front 8 is now:

    ADM, Quinn, Fabregas, Chadli, Downing.
    Pelle, Costa, Aguero.

I've 1.4m in the bank and have another free transfer. I'm considering Fab -> Sanchez. I also want Hazard though. Contemplating dropping Costa and going 3-5-2. Thoughts?

Too many good strikers vs. midfielders to play 3-5-2 atm, IMO.

If I was you I'd get Sanchez now just because if you then want to get Hazard at least you'll have gotten some extra bank along the way. Hazard isn't likely to go up anywhere near as much as Sanchez over the next week + Sanchez has an easier fixture.

If you have Costa at least you have Chelsea cover so at least if Hazard does go big Costa is as likely as anyone to reap some of the benefits.

I was going to wait for Walcott but after seeing Sanchez clean up again this weekend I couldn't wait any longer.

    I had 2FT so i went sterling>Sanchez and Siggy>Downing.

I'm thinking Welbeck (who has to be questionable in his place with Walcott and Sanchez both available now) out for Sakho. Obviously this depends on Sakho being confirmed as fit.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 388 ✭✭El festino

    Guzman (Hamer)
    Kaboul Widsom Chambers (Moore Duff)
    Sanchez Hazard Sterling Tadic (Boyd)
    Aguero Costa Sakho

Have 2 FTs. Need to move Sterling on. Was willing to take last nights drop but not another one tonight.

Kaboul second game today, he hasn't worked out yet but might hold on to him.

    Options I'm looking at:
    1. Sterling to Nasri or Chadli and upgrade Guzan.
    2. Sterling to Downing and Sakho to Pelle

I don't really want to lose Sakho but I don't want to have two West Ham players. Will end up with 2 Soton players but could move Tadic (and maybe Pelle on) when fixtures harden up. In saying that I'm not too gone on Downing. I would rather upgrade my keeper, even to Krul, Villa are on a horrible run.

    Anyone see other options?

I think I need to get Sanchez. If I put it off for too long I could end up doing some serious damage to my team, especially when I want him. On paper I could make arguments for waiting a while but it might just be folly.

A few tactical hits might be necessary. I was never afraid of them before and I need to get back into that mindset.

One of Fab, Hazard and Costs need shipping. I'm inclined to think Costa despite the rigmarole of the last few weeks. Whatever decisions made in the last few weeks are in the past and now irrelevant to going forward.

Just transferred out Vardy for Kane could be excellent value at 4.8m

I'm in a bit of a pickle, not sure whether to wildcard or not. Would be great if anyone could throw their eyes over this. Current team is:

    327095.JPG

One of my biggest regrets so far this year is having Larsson as my 5th mid. I could switch him to someone like Boyd and use that money elsewhere, but I've had more pressing transfers every week, including this one.

I could just do Bertrand & ADM -> Sanchez & any 4.5 def. If i was to use my WC though, i'd be opting for something along these lines.

    327096.JPG

Plan would be to rotate Downing & Diame based on fixtures, and the same with the Aldi defenders. Also leaves me with 1 mil in the bank.

My only issue with this route is that i'd be getting rid of Costa. I would be replacing him with Valencia, though, and he's someone who has flown under the radar a good bit on here, but is averaging over 7pts per game for the last 3.

Am i mad for thinking like this? Is my team decent enough as it is, with just minor tweaking here and there, or should i go for it?

My overall rank is within the top 8k, but this is the highest it's been since GW2, so I'd like to stop the rot before it really sets in. I'm not even sure if it has started yet, and i'm just being paranoid. Not used to being out in the front from the early stages.

Off that trio I'd definitely keep Hazard as the other two have been nearly working in tandem. As mad as it may sound coming from me.... I think I'd keep Costa.

I've got Cesc at the moment but I'll be swapping him to Hazard after the int break. And Costa will be coming back.

Sterling to Sanchez done last night, saving 0.2. Kept putting it off and debated doing it this gw but kept transfer, he's getting to the stage if you don't get him soon he's too much reshuffling to get in. My plan is to build up his price increases and swap then for Walcott ( making profit on Sanchez and adding money to bank) to upgrade wellbeck / pelle to Rooney / sturridge in a few weeks.

ADM,Sanchez,Downing and Tadic too weak a midfield?
Dumping Fab gives me Sanchez but my bank is empty till I sell Baines really.

Just knee-jerked Eriksen out for Downing leaving me -8 already for next week but hopefully will pay off. Pelle and Sanchez in for Costa and Siggy were my earlier transfers.

I'm hoping Cesc gets that 5th yellow soon so I can justify shipping him. Otherwise ADM will have to go if he blanks against Palace.

No, looks fine for this week. Maybe look at offloading tadic if he blanks again due to fixtures...just don't ask for who though as those midfielder between 7-9 is a minefield ATM!

    Why would anyone jettison Cesc?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,679 ✭✭✭✭wonski

I was going to get rid of Sterling but I wouldn't mind having him for some of the games after Chelsea.

Siggurdson to Newcastle midfielder - any thoughts?

Is that Aarons young guy an obvious replacement for Obertan who can be out for few weeks, or is there another mid in the mix?

Feel tempted but Siggy is Siggy - he might score anytime, or at least get an assist.

Long term I'd rather have Hazard I think (I have both currently). ADM is more vulnerable in my midfield despite the great upcoming home matches. I'm not doing a -4 for Sanchez regardless

Sissoko is on my watchlist. Had an assist this weekend and scored against Man City midweek (though that was the league cup). He's a guaranteed starter which I'm not sure Aarons is.

Aarons got a goal and an assist in 24 minutes played against Crystal Palace.

If he is a natural replacement for Obertan I might take the risk and bring him in. He looked like Sterling last season to mee which is a good thing.

Sissoko, on the other hand, had an assist this week and nothing else despite playing every single game.
Just thinking, not following Newcastle team news so have no idea who comes in for Obertan. I have watched one game only and was really impressed. 2 free kicks won in a space of 10-20 minutes so there is a chance for an assist if he runs like that.

Aren't these 2 propositions contradictory? If Fab & Costa are working in tandem (and so far they're working great) why jump on Hazard who has not yet justified being more essential than Cesc? I know what he can produce but he hasn't yet and Chelsea only had one huge result.

I feel this tennis result vs Everton is misleading us. It was followed by 4 goals vs Swansea and we all thought Chelsea were going to produce goal fests after goal fests this year but the opposite happened since. I haven't seen those 2 games but maybe Everton and Swansea were playing some "opened" attacking football leaving a lot of space to Chelsea attackers. Now that they're the official team to beat they may find more restrictive tactics in front of them...

Anyway, Mr P. I think you have to swap one of your Chelsea midfielder for Sanchez. In addition to getting in the flavour of the moment you'd also get a better balanced team IMO.

    This.

And next week or in 2 GWs time you can downgrade one of your Southampton def. WBA, QPR, Newcastle, Burnley have favourable fixtures to come...

About your proposed WC, 2 WH attackers sound overkill. Also, I'm not sure the rotation plan is a great idea for midfield. Unless you're confident enough to be spot on in 75% of the cases I think it's bound to disappoint. I'd rather get a cheap playing bench fodder and downgrade one of the Southampton lad to a cheap def in order to spend more upfront.

Austin could be another good shout at that price range. QPR have a decent run, he seems to be finding form & is on penos.

I'm (stupidly - Blame the hangover) on a wildcard and I'm gonna take a punt on him ahead of the more obvious choices of sakho or berahinio in that price range.

Welbeck and Sterling to Sanchez and Sakho.

My team looks primed for next weekend in terms if mini league differentials.
