Hi guys was just wondering was there many or any pay and play courses in Dublin , Kildare or even Meath ?

I used to play Ladyhill in Bodenstown but that has since shut . We often play R+R in Dunboyne but I'm a bit bored with it now.

I am a member of a club but since I start playing Football again I don't use it at all and won't be joining back .

Where pay and play suits myself and some friends when a round can be arranged with short notice .

Corballis in Donabate, Elmgreen near Blanchardstown, both Fingal Co Council courses. Sillogue Park near NCT centre in Ballymun. All very well kept courses

I've been a member in Dublin Mountain for the last couple of years it's 159 for the year and 15 green fees. Course is ok not great, they're pretty helpful up there in fairness so it's an option if you want something cheap and play opens elsewhere for most of the year.

I'm looking at changing this year so interested in this thread, grange castle or citywest look like good options for pay & play, has anyone any opinions on those courses?

    Both are decent courses

I would probably go for City West although it is only par 67 I think. Might not be as weather resistant as Grange Castle (which is par 72)

Grage castle is an improving course as the back 9 matures

OP, for all the courses mentioned it is prob best to book in advance but often they will squeeze you in

But there are comps that they wont let you out during

FYI City West is Par 69

Bellewstown is usually quite enough. Swords Open is usually in super condition.
Think most of the Pay and Play courses have members as well and often have comps Saturday and Sunday mornings so it might be tough to get out for the winter early.

Swords have scheduled comps from first light till about 10 on Sat/Sun , but sometimes you can get out before that and if there are gaps in member times they will allow them to be filled too . Theres BRS now aswell on the Swords Open website.

CW has 6 par 3's IIRC and some rotten heaped mounds of dirt separating opening fairways, I was very disappointment with it, a course to play once and never to return!

I have to say the 3 or 4 times I played it, it was in superb condition. It is very par 3 heavy on the front 9 if I am right. The back 9 can be noisy as near the N7 motorway

It did feel like it less than 69 tbh because of the par 3s.
