I really don't understand people complaining on this thread about trailers for the episodes.
They are hardly spoilers, they are trailers!

    Jaysus, don't watch the trailers!

IF its correct its going to be MASSIVE. If I hadn't read the posts and read this thread I can't say I'd predict this. I'll say no more now so as not to be even remotely giving away. But scroll slowly!

Can I ask a question I've watched all eps twice, does Paulie have a child?

I don't think it was ever revealed but maybe for episode 5 the story can always be changed, that yeah, he had a Spanish wife and kid or even in Dublin.

If you want to get into it, you got to get out of it. (Hawkwind 1982)

Good to hear John Boy is coming back and making his entrance in the shower, of all places.

    Just a question/thought:

Does anyone remember the young fella that was in the room with Lizzy when she got shot in episode 1? He said to her ''Do I have time to get a balaclava?'', and she goes ''Yeah but be quick''. He leaves, and then a few minutes later Glen enters the room and shoots Lizzie dead. We see Glen cycling away and then the fella that went to get the balaclava starts running up the stairs.

Was that young fella simply giving Glen the signal or go ahead to shoot Lizzie? Or could he be a relation of Lizzie's who feels aggrieved at her killing and could be out for revenge? Could the Wayne killing be brought up again somehow? My friend mentioned him to me and it just got me thinking.

I have a feeling one of those 'young fellas' in the show might have a role to play yet, more than likely Glen but that guy whom was with Lizzie could reappear.

I was just curious as Terence walks behind a coffin with Da in flowers.

Yes and just so everyone knows THIS IS NOT A SPOILER.
It's in the trailer for next weeks episode and is being shown on RTE throughout the week.

I think you might be mixing Paulie up with the Scottish truck driver (undercover Cop) that's shagging Nadine? He has a daughter he never sees.

What ever happened to Keith Duffy?

So if he meant 'eejit', then why didn't he say eejit? And if he now knows that casual use of mong or retard in a derogatory context causes offence and pain to some people with intellectual disabilities and their families, why would he continue to use them or defend their use?

You don't need to 'set out to offend' to offend. If I use N-I-G-G-E-R in casual conversation without setting out to offend black people, will we all just look the other way? If I use F-A-G-G-O-T in casual conversation without setting out to offend gay people, will we all just look the other way.

And more interestingly, why are N-I-G-G-E-R and F-A-G-G-O-T automatically blocked and replaced with ***** here on boards.ie, but retard is not?

No, I understand the difference between drama and real life. Love/Hate is drama. Posts on boards are real life.

    Just stop please.

It's more than likely Paulie's funeral (as Terence can be seen in the cortege) and the main wreath in the hearse says "Da". No biggie really - Hardly a leap for him to have a child from a previous (or even a current) relationship.

Please don't shoot me down for being ignorant, but I thought this season had 12 episodes, now I'm reading it's only 6, is that the case?

You must have only seen one picture? The ones I saw showed both sides of the hearse and the full name of the passenger was displayed on the opposite side to "DA". Then again, the spoiler I was unfortunate enough to see may not be accurate.

Nidge was babysitting the child but because Nidge can't read, he gave the child an overdose of medicine instead of its regular bottle :pac:

Looks like one (horse drawn) hearse and one funeral to me...with Terence walking behind it and a "Da" wreath in with the coffin.

Lizzie handed a lad a gun alright iirc. That lad might reappear yet. I think Guinea was the lad who shot Lizzie

Seriously was it ever shown or mentioned on screen how Patrick's son died, was it related to his pipe bomb business or from an illness etc.,

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,033 ✭✭✭unitedrover

The whole time Paulie was with Siobhan, he never once was concerned about the use of contraception. He did say to Nidge too that after a job he likes to ride a young wan. So it is probably likely judging by his behaviour in Ireland that he fathered a child in Spain.

I'm taking a risk here, but I don't think it was ever mentioned

Or Ireland, I don't think he was long in Spain with Uncle Terry

Maybe he knew Siobhan was on the pill and didn't like johnnies :p

Paulie got on well Siobhan's son Leighton, he even sent Donna home and minded him so maybe he did have a child himself

It was never mentioned. Most of the time we can only go on what is shown on air.

Yes I didn't think so either but then maybe I missed part so that's why I asked here

I hope the whole "Da" thing isn't a hint at another characters funeral though because having two funerals in the one episode would seem a bit much.

Yeah its a mystery so far, maybe the reason will be revealed over the next two episodes, a flashback perhaps.

No, it was never shown that I'm aware of & as others have said, it may play a part later on, who knows?

The loss of one of his kids might just have been thrown in there to emphasize how important his living little lad is to him & that if anyone dares go near him the gloves are off?

And also his outburst when he thought Nidge was saying his child had nits. Patrick is extremely protective of his family and judging by Nidge's " eye for an eye" comment and Patrick's killing of Packy, the whole Patrick/ Nudge feud is not over yet.

Yeah Guinea was the guy who shot Lizzie. I'm not sure if the guy with Lizzie in the flat was part of the act, or if he was genuinely working for Lizzie. It'll be interesting to see what happens if it is the latter!

Just a curious question, does Nidge own that brothel business? he seems to treat that place as his office anyway.
