Hi, does anyone have experience of the Avon ZT5 tyre. It's for an Octavia estate in 205/55/16 size. They are 80 bucks a corner, with free alignment if buying 4 at once. Reviews online are wide ranging, decent grip in the wet is important but we don't race around like lunatics. Honest.
    Ta for any replies.

They are a decent tyre but there are better tyres available for in and around the same money.

    Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance
    Bridgestone Turanza T001

Both of those should be around the €90-95 mark.

If you want something closer to €80 then try Uniroyal Rainsport 3.

Thanks, I've been looking at the Uniroyals. My local guys can't seem to get them at a good price.

I don't know the ZT5, but have used Avon ZZ3s on an MX5 and an XK8 and have found them to be a great tyre.

Have had Avon ZZ5s on a TT as well, they were fine too.

Hmmm, looking at reviews of the Uniroyal, they seem such a soft compound that they wear fairly quickly. I'm not sure the Avons would be a whole lot better though.

Got Hankook Ventus Prime 2 in that size for €75 a corner. That was in Longford though. Only have them a month but I Can't fault them yet. Great grip in the wet and dry.
