    Hi all,
We have just become the proud owners of an old cuckoo clock by Gordain Hettich Sohn c1860 & would like to at some stage get it professionally cleaned & restored.

It's in quite good condition but has a couple of small bits missing from some of the bone numbers, a side door missing & a couple of bits of carving either missing or broken.

Have no idea what sort of costs would be involved, but would at least like to get an idea at this stage.

We would only take it to somebody with lots of previous experience in this sort of thing who comes with recommendations.

William Lawless in Stoneybatter is very well regarded. But that comes with a price.
I believe a service will cost about €200.
If he can get the missing parts etc then that price will go up. But getting parts for a clock that old will be a massive challenge.
Sometimes the parts can be made from scratch, but again you are adding more to the cost.
Best bet is to bring it in to him and get his opinion.
