Just seen the front page of today's Sun, which potentially gave away a huge plot development and I'm furious. (I won't spoil it)

I really don't understand why the Irish tabloids, and the Indo, seem to take such delight in "revealing" plot details for upcoming episodes of Love/Hate. Why the **** do they insist on ruining the viewer experience for the show?

Watching previews/teaser clips for the next episode is one thing... Even stuff like the Indo's story on "two deaths in tonight's episode" can be dodged in future... but plastering key plot details on the front page is ridiculous. Even just glancing at the papers in the shop is enough to ruin it for everybody, and make spoilers unavoidable. Last season, Wayne and Dano's deaths; this season the details of Pauley's death (while he wasn't named as the person who dies, it could be inferred by the preview for episode 4) and now today's Sun. That they get some stuff wrong, like Darren supposedly being in the 4th season is no consolation.

Seems to be a really leaky ship in RTE. There were no spoilers anywhere before the BB Finale.

Is there any way to filter what sites come up in Google results? The Irish Mirror is the worst offender; would be good to block it in future.

What convinced me that it was pretty lame was when nidge pushed 10K accross the table to the traveller and guess what, the traveller pushed it back! FFS! those boys would kill, and have killed, for a fraction of that 10k. We were being led to believe that it was refused on some warped set of principles that the traveller had, yeah right.

Ah you're forgetting Patrick is the most peaceful pipe bomb maker around! He mightn't be driven by money!

I haven't seen too many saying that its sh1te, just that its not great and very weak on plots or strong storylines. In fact come to think of it, its probably best enjoyed by people who are similar to the characters,EG those who live mainly on benefit and always did and have zero ambition.

But its a fictional series. Not entirely based on reality.........reality tends to be pretty boring a lot of the time, even in the lives of criminals.....
Of course there are similarities to real life however it is not a 100% depiction of how people act and how life is in real life. It wouldn't be very entertaining like that would it?

In much the same way that ANY series in TV. You'll have to park your brain for certain parts of any series and engage it for other parts.
This is the case for even the very best of series, no matter what it was/is or how much money is spent on it.

Real life is boring, writers have to take liberties with certain aspects of the writing.

How would that work? Would the visiting blocks not be used pretty much all the time?

Does anyone remember the series The Governer - I think it ran on ITV in the late 90's that was filmed in Wheatfield too - so they must have an arrangement - good money in using places for filming.
There used to be a register (this is the 90's again) where you could include your property (particularly if it was old or quirky) for location shooting.

I don't think it matters terribly to the viewer where the locations are filmed. The Zoo scenes are filmed in the park a short walk to the Zoo entrance and not far from a gardai headquarters but I thought that was deliberate (right under their noses so to speak) But if I didn't recognise the area it wouldn't even cross my mind whether it's a plausable location or not.

Nidge "I desperately want Fran whacked"
Noelie "I'm not doing it, I've only got 8 months left in here"
Nidge "He pissed on yer ma's corpse"
Noelie "Well that is totally believable and I will now definitely kill him"

And I will go to jail for the rest of my life for doing it. Thanks, Nidge. You're a star!

I think this is a fair point of criticism. Noelie knew that Nidge wanted Fran done, so why would he just believe him when he told him about the grave incident?
Yeah, Nidge looked him in the eye and all but a lot of people are good at lying.

It's only 6 episodes long so they have to keep things moving, but it was still a bit too easily done.

Has the trailer for next week been uploaded anywhere? The RTE player doesn't show the trailer for next week. Want to see it badly :D

Yeh I thought this at the time...but I meant he knew the grave had been dug up, and wrecked. Why would anyone in their right mind want to do this?? Enter Fran!

I think it is more believable than a random act done by hooligans.

That's a teaser clip for next week, not the trailer.

Gracias any ways. Nidgey has taken to the sesh to deal with things, it appears!

I don't know Fran has a pretty mad reputation so I can see Noelie believing this - IMO of all the killings and blood letting (including innocent cats) so far I think Fran digging up Noelie's mother and urinating on her remains was despicable - can you imagine how the thought of that would impact on Noelie?

It was the one scene that made me hope Fran would eventually get his comeuppence.

It happened at the time of their feud so I guess it makes sense in that regard. At the same time, taking another man's life and getting locked up for another 20 years is a fair risk without definite evidence.

Then again, if Nidge had brought some evidence it would have looked even more contrived, so I guess we just have to take it as it is.

    Well that is totally believable
her grave was dug up now he has a reasonable reason for it.Getting your head down and doing your time may be a good idea but when you hear about peeing on a dead mother then murdering the person who did it has to happen. But Fran took on 3 young athletic men in a tiny jail cell and won I think Noelie who lost a fight with Fran already will have to come up with something good to kill Fran the man.

Did Fran actually urinate on her remains? I thought he dug up the grave and took out the coffin, but decided to just piss on the grave instead.

I don't normally complain about spoilers but maybe you should spoiler that link or put it in the other thread about previews and spoilers.

Edit: Change that, that particular thread is locked, fcuk it it doesn't matter sure the threads title says spoilers anyway. :)

Assuming the budget for each episode of Love Hate is 500K or 600K, what kind of money would TVL & Co be on per episode?

He stood on the coffin and it broke by accident so there was a hole in it. Fran p!ssed in through the hole.

I read somewhere that it will be the penultimate episode, and that it will be left on a cliffhanger until the new year.

I was wondering that myself. Id say Fran and Nidge are on 10k each per episode and then the scale drops down thereafter. I cant see any Irish actors doing better than 50 or 60k a year from an Irish show regardless of its success.

Would love to hear other thoughts though

Ah what a dirt bag! Thought he dug up the grave and pissed on it, which most certainly would have been a diabolical act in itself. Didn't realise he actually pissed in the coffin. Wonder how many complaints RTE got for that?

I remember reports stating that Adian Gillan was on €15k per series and the other major actors were on €10k per series for the first two. Wages may have increased since due to success of show.

Thats mad. As shíte as he was in Love/Hate Im surprised Adian Gillan would work for that

10k per series? I can hardly see the likes of Robert Sheehan working for that either. Aidan Gillian is a pretty good supporter of Irish output though so that wouldn't surprise me, but I would have thought there'd be a lot more money involved than that.
