Don't worry, Tommy has the bed warmed up for him if he's not brown bread.
    3. I had a feeling that the scottish lad was a plant. Reminds me of the fbi lad theylanted in the mafia that was almost a made man. Cant remember the movie with deniro in it but i read the book back when and was they same had him planted as a jewel thief drinking at a bar for a year so he was known.

    Donnie Brasco?

Siobhan and her big mouth, once she said Zoo I said PUSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Never thought she'd do it though!

At this rate I can't see many of the main characters surviving at all. It'll be a hell of a bloodbath some night.

Patrick is probably my favourite character. Even this episode just had so much explanation about his values and ideals. That episode was brilliant. Probably the best since S3 Finale.

Agree with all that.....but when you factor in that Patrick makes pipe bombs for a living, it's hard not to think that his value system & what he believes in (especially when it comes to life and death and killing people) is just a leeeeetle bit off.

What was Nidges line about the giraffes? "Fcking giraffes look real" or something like that - totally cracked me up.

I think all the planted cliched lines that Nidge comes out with are a bit annoying TBH

He just makes them, doesn't care where they end up. Wouldn't tell on anyone

Great to see Tommy D in this episode as the born again christian, would have been good to have used this song when Siobhan let the cat out of the bag.....

Great episode but the scene where Paulie dead was ruined for me because of these posts last week...

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=92687172&postcount=2391

Now these were posted without any spoiler tags. Mods had to later add them. Once Paulie sat up on the rail I knew it meant that spoiler was true. So annoyed, as Im sure many others are here that read those last week. Makes me want to give up on this thread even though I enjoy reading it. Actually I would like to see people like price690 banned for so blatantly spoiling future episodes on the rest of us.

I agree with you on the spoilers bit but the shows producers have a lot to answer for also. They constantly feed image spoilers out to the media. You wouldnt see that with most credible shows

I agree. Paulie was harmless and Scotty purposefully missed Patrick.
Swell guys the pair of them

    Scotty?:pac:

Yep. Agree 100%. They were starting to get on my nerves. Some scenes are so powerful, they don't need a backing track. Tonights last scene was one of them.

But there was some music wasn't there? It was like a really soft and subtle piano piece which complimented the final scene perfectly.

But it's guess work for us all. Everyone has an opinion on what they think might happen...would be a boring thread if there was no one giving their opinion on what they think might happen.

Yeah, but he knows what the pipe bombs are for and how they are used. He knows damm well that they can result in people being injured or killed. So he is not exactly an innocent party here, just because he is not the one actually tossing them through peoples living room windows.

Very good episode but could they not have found a better way of exposing Siobhain than "I thought you woulda got me a cuddly toy from the zoo"? Weak writing.

Don't agree whatsoever. It was a slip of the tongue when she was on pills.

How would you have exposed it better, were you involved in the script?

Is it Nidge, Aido, Elmo and (Noley) v the Gards, the Ra, the travellers, the Spain gang and (Fran)?

Doesn't seem fair, Nidge could do with Darren.

Not so sure about Aido being as close Nidge's side anymore after tonight.

I don't like what you're implying, he's a gentle soul and sells those devices for agricultural use.

That's really shitty, that poster definitely should have been banned. There's speculating and then there's ruining it for people.

I try really hard not to spoil anything for myself. I avoid any articles/stories online about Love/Hate. I post in this thread on a Sunday night, read the reactions until Monday and then unsubscribe again until the following Sunday. Turn over the radio if they start discussing it. I enjoy the shocks too much!

I have no idea how Nidge has lasted this long with his joke of a gang, at least John Boy had some reliable lieutenants, Nidge chief among them.

Yeah, but it was very, very subtle. It's when they have the swelling violins and a booming Johnny Cash soundtrack, each and every time, that I start to get annoyed.

I'm a big Cash fan and I love most of the songs that they feature at the end of eps. I just get browned off when they make a big deal of having one for the last scenes of each and every ep. They start to lose their impact, when they happen each and every time.

Surely the whole point of Love/Hate is to portray the fact that, in the criminal underworld, life is nasty, brutish, short and eminently expendable?

If you want character development, watch Downton Abbey instead ;)

?? Well yeah, id like character development? Thats the brst part of cinematography. Why you refrenced downton abbey is beyond me!

Was thinking that actors delivery was incredible; was thinking they'd have had to do a bunch of re-takes/edits to get it right.

Didn't realise he rapped: that explains it.

Is this the tv version of pills or actual ecstasy? It is far really far fetched. However, I'm not complaining as Paulie took the fall.

If Noely goes after Fran, he'll surely get him. How many attempts have been made on Fran now?
Tommy's failed hit in the boozer, S2. Noely's failed traffic light hit, S4. Potsy and co. prison attempt gone wrong, S5. I'd like to keep thinking Fran the man is invincible, but it doesn't bode well for him getting out of this season alive.

    12 I thought?

    No, 6.

There was a lot of confusion earlier in the year when the press reported that season 5 would be 12 episodes, all because of an interview with the director being misconstrued. He said something along the lines of the plotline being written over 12 episodes...what he actually meant was that season 4 and 5 were going to run into each other; the storylines were being expanded whereas in earlier seasons storylines would be more wrapped up and there'd be long gaps in the timelines (a year usually I think) between seasons.

All the news outlets seemed to have picked it up wrong unfortunately! Although I do think 12 episodes would be too many. 8 would be ideal IMO.

Director David Caffrey has explained how Love/Hate 2013 and 2014 will be closely linked, with plotlines from season four being tied up in season five.

"The mindset was that we'd make something to run over 12 episodes, as opposed to six. "We're expanding the storylines over a longer period of time and we didn't want to do a 'shoot them and gun them all down' thing again" said Caffrey.
