Nissan almera immobiliser problem

Hi there. I tried to start my 00 almera earlier but didn't realise that I was using the wrong key, I've a 96 almera too and was using that key. Problem is now the immobiliser has kicked in & the car won't start with the correct key. Wondering now how to fix this & if it's a big problem. Tia

Hi, I had a similar problem with my Almera once. Try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes, reconnect it and try starting again.

The below is a general 'signature' and not part of any post:
FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.
You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.
Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.
Public transport user? If you're sick of phantom ghost services on the 'official' RTI sources, check bustimes.org for actual 'real' RTI, if it's on their map it actually exists.

Hi thanks for reply Buffman. I called nissan dealer and they said car would have to be programmed at a cost of €90. After a bit of googling I found a post advising to turn ignition key to on for five seconds then off for five seconds and repeat. To my delight it worked. Keys are now seperate do I don't make the same stupid mistake again
