I needed the car today so I didn't technically wimp out.

It just stopped me having to make that decision

I made it in with 5 minutes to spare before the rain started.

For me today's choice was the faster commuter without mudguards or the slower with.
The OH then said, you could take the bus.

So I decided on the No Mudguards bike, and just made it into work dry.

No muduards, 15 minutes before the rain started, but in my new Aldi's waterproof socks just in case. They're too warm! :)

Just 3 or 4 more minutes and I would've missed the rain..Wet socks are a horrible feeling :(

Soaked, head to toe. Not looking forward to the damp cycle home.

Got rained on, but left the house prepared (No such thing as the wrong weather, only the wrong clothes!) Damp, but feeling good and happy. No wobbly cyclists or Scobies on the way. Just realised I love my bike. Is that taboo????

Is that made from a piece of Wavin pipe?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,520 ✭✭✭Alek

Nope, you may do it from a plastic document folder. Check the link above.

    How'd you find them.

I guess they will not let the water in, but don't help the feeling of cold. I'll try them with thin wool socks underneath, next time.

1.2 -1.5 degrees in my area. Still in shorts + knee warmers. That may be over for now unfortunately.

Finally - someone who really falls into the "wimp" category and actually should be posting in this thread:pac:

Got into work this morning to get given out to by my co worker for wearing a t-shirt.
"It's 5 degrees, where is your jacket"
    to which I replied:
"It is 6 degrees so I don't need a jacket yet"

    BOOM

Caveat: I may need to start wearing proper gloves again rather than fingerless mitts though

Oddly enough I did call her Mamai after she made that comment, my actual Mamai gave up on me along time ago.

I got a headache from the cold on the way in, it was the same feeling I remember getting as a child when I was greedy and wolfed down ice cream too fast.

Decided to take a rest day and discovered the trains are delayed. Two hours later I'm sitting on a bus in Seabury, Malahide. Knew I should have cycled.

    especially with a tail wind

What is this tail wind you speak of? I had a head wind, in both directions
