Judging by this discussion I must be the only one who likes the Police angle. I think it adds to the show and I like it. Even like the performances. Like the new Chief Super too - Bacon and Cabbage
. The scene with him asking for a report before he could allocate better resources rang very true to me. Don't think there is a chance in hell that Moynihan will have an affair with the dentists wife. I have the feeling that Carolan wants to show him as a normal family man doing a job. A nice change from the cliche of the cop with the drink problem/broken marriage.
Comparing it to the Wire is more than a little bit unfair. The Wire is the best TV drama ever. Worth pointing out too that it had 12 episodes per series, so had more time to develop characters.
I'm not comparing, just think that they are trying that angle.
The black cop was a really bad cast, the real life cop can't act.
I don't know, it just feels very forced. As I said, I'm enjoying the angle, just miscast in my opinion.
It's tough to get details in with only 6 episodes without it seeming forced.
As I felt the wire let itself down in season 5 with the journalist angle, that seemed crammed, forced and self indulgent.
