Super Ser + cylinder

    Does anyone know how much a Superser costs to run per hour ?
    And how many hours does a cylinder of the SuperSer size last ?

    And how much one of those cylinders costs ?

    I am trying to find out how much they cost to run. Is it more expensive than mains gas ?


    There is an old one in my shed plus a cylinder in good condition. Is it worth keeping for the winter ?

    "OLD" one in a shed is what scares me.

    A super ser is the most dangerous fuel burning appliance you can have in a house.
    It has no chimney and proberly never serviced or checked out for leaks in it's life.

    If you have to have one, I'd recommend getting a new one.
    Also a carbon monoxide should always be also used.

    No . It works a treat. It has not been used a lot and was well maintained, kept clean and rust free etc .

    I need to know how much they cost to run...

    It all depends on the Kw output of the heater and how much you pay for a cylinder of gas.
    A heater with an output of 4.2 kw per hr on a 15 kg cylinder of gas will last about 50 hours.
    Take the price of a cylinder of gas and divide by 50 for an approximate cost per hour based on an output of 4.2 kw/hr.
