TV Sound Bar & Laptop

    well lads bought a philips 40 inch tv from argos there was a special deal with a sound bar so i bought that aswell.

    problem is i cant get it to work sound bar works fine powered off samsung galaxy.
    i have my laptop connected to my tv via hdmi cable. there is no hdmi cable connection for the soundbar . i got opticle cord connected th4e two and nothing really need some help with this lads anyhelp would be great

    You would normally connect the video source (Sky/UPC box) to the 'HDMI In' port on the soundbar and the 'HDMI Out' port on the Soundbar to the TV - the main HDMI Port which is typically HDMI1 and which has 'ARC' indicated. As long as the TV supports ARC you should be fine.

    If this doesn't sort it, post the exact make and model numbers of the TV and soundbar.

    the soundbar does not take hdme cables??? only aux and optical?

    Hi please connect as following :)
    You will need two cables
    1. HDMI to HDMI
    2. RCA to RCA (Black and Red used everywhere)

    Connect Laptop out HDMI to TV in HDMI
    Connect ''AUDIO OUT'' of TV using the RCA cable to AUX on soundbar
