Airfare price reductions last minute Ryanair/Aerlingus?

Does anyone know if either of the airlines would drop their flight prices nearer the time. I'm just looking to change the date of a flight if possible. It's fine if I can't. Currently with Ryanair it would be 150 to do this on my current booking. Both airlines are quoting over 100 at the moment for a oneway so just wondering if they do drop their prices very close to the departure date or am I wishful thinking.

The low cost airline way is to put up the price of flights last minute as they get people who are desperate to travel.

You wont be getting cheap last minute flights like you would be getting if you flew long haul.

If they did, everyone would leave it until the last minute to book flights and clearly they want people to book reasonably early so it's their practice to ramp up the price for the last few seats. This means that people who book at the last minute for a business trip or to attend a funeral get royally screwed.

Mick O'Leary makes no bones about it....

"The best yields (fares) are VFRs (visiting friends and relatives) going to funerals," Mr O'Leary announced. "They book late because they don't tend to have much notice, and they tend to be price insensitive because they have to travel."
