I expect something far more nuanced, more Nidge v Paulie with Terrance possibly not automatically defending Paulie for some reason (unauthorised solo run of some sort perhaps/ he looses shipment/ turns rat himself). Remember, Tony didnt have his comrade Dano's back at the end of the day.

Can't see Terrance turning his back on his nephew.

Is it possible that Tommy will come out of his coma (would they keep showing him if they had no intention to bring him back) find out that Siobhan is banging Paulie and go postal and kills Paulie? Or would that be too similar to the git storyline again (I know it was rape but it would be another Siobhan, another man and Tommy incident)

paulie may have to clip siobhan

Paulie may be ordered to clip Siobhan but has fallen for her by that stage and has a chance to turn rat himself and go into the witness protection program

That would set up Nidge and Terrance against Paulie. The Guinea network would be very relevant to how that might go.

Paulie to retrace Darren's footsteps in reverse, turn his back on a promising criminal career .......for love!

If he were to turn rat ............ nobody is indispensable. Tony Soprano personally capped his cousin to end a war with New York. Business is business.

I don't expect Tommy to feature at all in this series expect maybe as the body in a wake scene

What was Lizzie jailed for again? She couldn't be out that early if she'd gone down for the hit on Dazzler surely.
When she failed the hit on Nidge, she got into the car crash and aside from half losing the plot, realised the only way she might be safe would be to get herself arrested, so beat the crap out of the guy and waited for the cops to show up.

I'm not sure who she was aiming for this time, maybe it was Nidge again, but yeah Nidge had her done because he knew she was one of the people out to get him.
paulie may have to clip siobhan
I think this will probably end up being the main conflict point this season. Paulie will realise that Siobhan is a rat and put pressure on Nidge to be done with her. Of course, Nidge isn't going to, so will try to convince her to go away permanently. She disappears, but not dead, and Paulie is pissed, but he can't do anything about it because he needs Nidge.
Tommy may end up getting it - Siobhan will say that she needs to stay around for Tommy, so Nidge puts an end to Tommy and sends Siobhan away.

The Sopranos and Breaking Bad had multi-million dollar budgets for each episode. Love/Hate has around 500-600K euro. Are you actually serious, comparing it to those American cable shows?

When the TV channel that shows it says they are on that level then i think it's reasonable to comment.

Thought it was a very entertaining episode. Clears up a few pieces of unfinished business, starts off a few story lines and generally flows with the last series pretty well.
I watched the 4 minute recap before watching the episode and twas well worth it.

Most people who have issues with the episode, from what I can tell, weren't able to remember the references to past episodes, couldn't keep up with the storyline or couldn't handle the parts that were flashbacks/flashforwards.
That's easily fixed by watching all previous episodes, taking notes, doing a course in the analysis of Love Hate ;)

Can watching old episodes explain why the traveller and fran have suddenly developed different personalities?

Did anyone else notice that it was bright out when Nidge went into the brazzers house for the ride and only stopped shagging her when it was dark outside.... Some man for 1 man!

I'm sure the reasoning for that will come to light. Hard to make much of it in just one episode.

I didn't like that scene. Pointless. Meant to believe that he'd spend all that time on a couch with someone that couldn't even get him off.

I get the feeling that either Nidge's boy or Patrick's boy will be pivotal in this series.
Patrick gives Fran the info about Linda in return for his boys life? (Nidge having taken him as leverage, maybe)

    He should just kill Fran

You may be on to something there or you may be way off the mark Happy, time will tell.

Just if you do turn out to be totally wrong, don't come onto this thread and criticise whatever you failed to anticipate as "totally implausible" or really poor scriptwriting.

I'm starting to think that the bone thing is going to be a bigger issue this season than originally expected - it was brought up twice in the first episode, and clearly Siobhan was interested (either just drunkenly interested in whatever was going on, or interested in anything that might f*ck Nidge up)

I think it's badly written or they're stuck for ideas!! last season fran is like a rabid dog and nidge can hardly control him, and fears him!! now same fran is beggin on his knees for a pass?? never happen, stupid.

also the traveller lad puts on a few pounds, comes back on the ferry issuing death notices now?? are ya for real??. I think the writers struggled to get a good enemy for Nidge!!

also one more thing, the guards?? eh gaffer this, eh gaffer that!! who's the target!! blah blah blah, crap, they're the most unrealistic part.

I'll still watch it though ha ha ha

He was 2 mins from being killed if he didn't beg, so it doesn't seem that unrealistic to me.

One of those is a Garda in real life, so I'd be interested to know if he's quietly cringing about it or if maybe it's not actually too far off the mark.

What? Where have I done that before?
You shouldn't have anything to do with the arts or entertainment world if you cannot handle criticism and appraisal of effort.

Are we going to have to read this nonsense whinging about others opinions on a 'television forum' for another whole season?

relax, right, I get your point but not all cringe in the face of death. some are proud and stupid and coked up not to realise it. Id expect that from elmo or another such but not yer man fran, he's portrayed as an absolute psycho end of story. I know what your saying but I just don't buy him as the quivering type.

and id say some guards are cringing at that whole gaffer this crack!! I like the actual main detective guy. I think he's deadly. I still think this could be a good season though.

That isn't the point. Just the complete turn around in events with little explanation is what is bugging some. No issue with someone crying juST before they could be executed. Fran towards the end of the last season had the swagger of someone who had 0 fear of Nidge. Nidge had the swagger of someone who seemed to be wary and fearful of Fran. What happened to switch this so suddenly? Maybe I need to watch the episode again. What is the time difference between the end of last season and the start of this season?

100% thank you. not so much nidge but the traveller!! he was a real I keep myself to myself type, quiet and ware he had children etc to lose.. now all of a sudden he's a one man army, handing out tombstones. it's weird I think that's all. how about a larry murphy type comes in and kills them all???

No don't think so , again it's not in Patricks character to do that. He lost a son and grieves over him constantly. I don't think he has any interest in killing a child. It's Nidge he wants dead.

Say he did kill Warren? What would that do for him other than drive Nidge even more psychotic. Nidge would have his entire family murdered if that happened, surely Patrick wants to off Nidge and be done with the whole thing before Nidge gets to him.

He kept to himself before Nidge tried to kill him. The only reason he went after Nidge is because he was worried Nidge would end up trying to kill him again or going after his family.

You'd swear it was the most complex plot in the world going by some of the posts on here

I think fran will want revenge after he inevitably finds out about linda, warren or trish could be in the firing line.

I think Nidge's seemingly throwaway comment to Paulie about the 'Mots round here will cost ya' will end up being very prophetic!
