    Definitely makes me think previous owner was a DICK, and so I would look elsewhere.
    Would have thought dealers would be wise to that and stick on a set of plates

    Didn't realise anything with German plates should be avoided. I'll take that on board, cheers.
    Number plates aside what would the consensus be on this model? Should that engine be avoided? Is it overpriced?

    Make sure the balance shaft has been done or else. Looks like a nice example apart from the stuff on it.

    Cheers jjjjnr, I dug up an old A6 thread were this issue was mentioned. Scary!

    At that mileage you would be approaching the end of its dual mass flywheel so worth checking to see if it was replaced.
