I was in a supermarket in Italy at the weekend, and thought I'd pick up some local beer. Poor selection, but I picked up a 75cl of Moretti Grand Cru to bring back to drink with OH. Knew it probably wouldn't be amazing, but didn't want to come back empty-handed.

When I got home, I looked it up on Ratebeer:

and to my surprise, it's actually Affligem Blonde in different packaging. Felt a bit cheated to be honest. :(

Is this a common practice? I assume it's legal, but still, morally it seems a bit iffy.

Rebadging is pretty common, though more by smaller breweries than the big guys.

Well, I hope no-one explodes from the excitement, but I'll try to open it this weekend.

I've had Affligem Blonde on many an occasion and it's very nice indeed. Never before heard about this rebadging lark though.

Ok, so ye'll all be delighted to know we opened it tonight. I'd describe it as follows:

Birra normale, che non min soddisfa particolarmente. A parte il sapore del lievito in bocca rimane poco, ed il corpo non assiste la bevuta. Però, è una birra che può accompagnare una conversazione tranquilla.

Too Italian, Did Not Read: It was grand, nice Belgian beer.
