That drives me nuts too. I am also a single woman and live alone. I cut my lawns, clean my own gutters, paint walls, varnish my front door, change tap washers etc. Basic jobs that I do out of necessity but I enjoy them too. No need to patronise me just because I don't have a big strong man living in the house to help me. (I have male friends I can call on for extra help, but I can do most things myself.)

I lived alone from the age of 18, always loved DIY etc. Even now that I've been living with my partner for years, I'm still the one who does those type of jobs: putting up shelves, painting, changing plugs, tightening washers U-bend etc. But what písses me off is when tradesmen etc come to the house they talk over me to him. In his defence, he always says 'Talk to her about it, that's her department, she knows more than me'. I never realised that having a vagina was supposed to mean that you couldn't use a spanner.

Sounds like your having great fun where you live:D Lots and lots to see!

Ah good ol Finglas, there is always something magical every day. It could be a horse casually strolling along or tied up outside the local shop. It could be stolen cars being rallied, bouncy castles in the middle of the street, fire hydrants being tapped to fill up inflatable pools....also left in the middle of the street. The possibilities are endless.

The after lunch slump. I normally eat quite lightly at lunch but today I consumed a massive sandwich and now all I feel like doing is curling up under my desk for a few hours

Idiots driving vehicles with no consideration for other road users. Today I was driving through town, bout half three so all the schools were out and the place was jammed, one of the streets was closed and there was a diversion in place which made it even more manic.

So, I'm sitting there behind this hoohah in a jeep who isn't moving forward to merge in with traffic, instead he keeps slowly reversing back on top of me so I sound the horn. By now there's more cars behind me but he keeps inching back. I sound the horn again, and he stops. So pissed off I overtake him, bear in mind he's on a busy road first in line to merge onto the Main Street, and when I overtook him I'm the wrong side of the busy road, if someone turned onto it I'd be wrong.

I threw him a filthy look passing him, but what did he do? He ****ing CLAPPED. He held his webbed inbred hands up and clapped. It's an hour later and I'm still raging he got away with it.

Lorries that pull over into the 3rd lane on the N7 using no indicators then try to overtake the other lorry in middle lane for the next 3.7km. (coach in lane 1) this morning at 5.30

Upon reflection of my neighbours and their antics, I was gazing out my window after getting out of the shower this evening with my 2 kids running around me, one dressed in a mini mouse costume, the other in a monsters inc costume, I realise that it is me that has set the standard for nudity and costumes on my street.

I hate when I am on the phone in the office at work and there is silence in the rest of the office (e.g. lull in conversations and nobody else on the phone).

I get really self-conscious and hate the sound of my own voice :(

There's a song on the radio at the moment that's really catchy, so it keeps getting stuck in my head, but the chorus is really irritating me because it doesn't make sense. Whatever happened to proper syntax in pop music? :P

On a whim yesterday I decided to purchase a ticket to Christina Perri in concert in November. One ticket for myself.

Brother and a few friends looked at me as if I had two heads or something when I told them I was going by myself. I'm not seeing anyone at the moment so didn't need to buy two (hardly gonna buy one in the oft-chance that I'd pull between now and then and could use it as a date :D), particularly as it was a spur of the moment purchase. Besides, maybe I prefer doing things by myself. Maybe I'll enjoy the experience more without having to keep someone else entertained. It's an opportunity for a night away from normal life, which I haven't had all year.

It's just the whole perception that doing things by yourself is odd that's a real bugbear. From my own experience, going to the cinema and treating oneself to lunch in a fancy restaurant is every bit as enjoyable as being accompanied by someone. Cheaper too.

I'm a lone wolf and happy about it. So leave me alone!!!

I'll go to Coppers after just to balance things out

Getting a cold, being really sick, getting much better the next day so you think it's gone, then waking up the following day to full on vomitting and so dizzy i feel like I'm after a rake of cider and I'm waking up still drunk. It's hard to breathe too, I think it's all on my chest.

And it's my birthday tomorrow. I was sick on my birthday last year as well.

    Suckity ballz

Waking up every morning with back pain. You'd think after nine years I'd get used to it, but no. Some days I want to curl up in a ball and cry my eyes out.

    "Wow that looks really tasty".
"It is, that is why I bought it for breakfast".
    "Can I try some?".

Suddenly your breakfast is gone by a bunch of a$$holes with food lust.

People who demand that donkeys who have been mates for ten years and have a family together be separated because their natural behaviour "offends" their precious children. Go fúck yourselves really.

Or when someone walks past when you are on the phone so you stop talking just for 3 or 4 seconds to let them get out of earshot, and the person on the other end starts having a schizoid attack - "are you still there?! Can you hear me??!!!!! Hello? Hellaw?!!!"
