New experiences

well folks, I'm halfway through a 2 week holiday from work and I've done nothing with myself other than waste precious hours doing nothing of any relevance.

Then I came up the idea of spending a year trying new things, new experiences. 52 new experiences in 52 weeks. They can be small, like changing a nappy, or big, like doing a bungie jump.
So far I've come up with a few like do a marathon, donate blood, first aid class, ride a horse etc.
Hopefully I do get around to actually going through with this list, instead of pushing it aside for the latest FIFA
I thought the best place to look for inspiration would be Boards, so what new experiences should I include? what would you lot like to try? what experiences have you already tried and would recommend?

Hopping freights trains in Canada,an experience I'll never forget, seeing parts of the country not accessible by road, met some headbangers along the way too.

A marathon is on my list for next year, as is a triathalon, but you can't just show up and do those. They need work! If you're going to try fit 52 things in, you'll need to be realistic.

Have you tried that weird feeling you get when you accidentally type your password at the wrong time and you see it spelled out in front of you?

Sends shivers down your spine so it does.

Would certainly make an interesting edition if I did a video blog of events

True, list is still in its early days yet so it will be revised (several times )

    Masturbate with the opposite hand.

Part your hair to the other side.

Two seemingly easy things to do.

I'm an old lady trapped in the body of a 27 year old.

I just recently took up crocheting! Didn't think I'd like it but I AM OBSESSED

As soon as I get home I'm straight up to my bedroom, even bought myself a fancy little basket at the weekend to keep all my wool in

Everyone I know is getting a blanket for Christmas (that's all I can make)
    Haha

Maybe you should add it to your list to try too?! You'll love it!! :P

Go to one of those list generators that pick countries and figure out a way to go to the first one it picks.

Just did it myself and got Liberia. :(

You could bend the rules and go to the city of Liberia in Costa Rica.

I can't think of anything more boring than running for about 4 hours! :pac:

Ah f*ck it. I think I'll go back to college!

Just go to a Liberian embassy, same thing as going to the actual country right?

Decided 2 summers ago to visit the counties in Ireland I had not previously visited. Fantastically enjoyable experience. Couldn't recommend it enough. Admittedly, I had the benefit of 2 great summers, but it was wonderful seeing this country at its best.

Would involve some planning for you, but you'll enjoy it no end.

magicmushroom I hear crocheting is as addictive as crack cocaine ;-P

The Mammy is mad for crochet. she goes to 3 classes/groups a week. She crocheted 2 outfits this year, 1 for my Sister's wedding and one for mine.
