I thought yesterday was their day? What is the actual story with them? Are they skint?

Unpaid wages, not sure if that's what the 50k was about.

    Only getting onto this now.

I only know that the club put up a FB status and it seems posters around town saying that they are desperately stuck, and trying to get people out the next/last 3 home games.

Obviously there are always money concerns for Bray, but there isn't much to indicate that they won't see out the season. As for after that, yeah, I'm not confident!

If I was a Bray supporter, I wouldn't be too worried

There are very strict licencing rules laid down by the FAI every year. The majority of clubs fail on a number of points and pulled aside to be told "get it sorted during the year and we will say nothing, now don't tell the others"

As if it can't get any worse for Bray, that flyer is now wrong.

Their game with Derry has been moved to Tue Sept 30th, due to us being in the Cup semi.

Sounds good - I do think you need another stadium in Dublin for bigger LOI games, Big European club matches, Under 21 Internationals and the like and smaller Friendly internationals for the senior team.

Was never in favour of getting rid of Dalymount Park. Redevelopment yes as its in a fairly sad state (and has been for a long time).

Sounds good - but will believe this when it happens.

Bad news for us though, pre-season the plan was a new stadium next to IKEA for us to share but DCC were supposedly very interested in redeveloping Tolka with Bohs coming in as ground sharers.

Anyone know what parts of the stadium Bohs own? Seems like an awful waste of money doing the stadium up if only 2 sides are to be done.

Tolka would be a better option to spend money on if possible.

Coleman had an eventful return to Accrington. 5-4 winners at Northampton!

The tramway end that backs onto the Phibsboro shopping centre hasn't been in use in donkey's years. So that's one we don't own im guessing!

I believe the Zurich deal meant the shopping center developers need to pay up or give up their claim if pushed so should be all of it, otherwise maybe 10 metres behind the goal on Shopping Center end. Original deal saw the developers build a small stand and corporate boxes behind that goal. If DCC etc get involved I think they should be able to sort the mess out.

Thought Shels sold their lease? Also flooding and access issues?

Less work to done in Tolka than Dalymount, I would prefer Dalymount but it would need to be all 4 sides to make a decent stadium. Even small stands would be nice if access could be made from the other end.

    Both stadiums have access issues.

There's been some mis-information here that should probably be cleared up.

Bohs own all 4 stands in Dalymount. Just 2 are in use - The Jodi (Main) Stand, and The Shed (Des Kelly Stand). The other 2 stands (Connaught Street and Tramway End) aren't fit for use as the foundations of both stands are old and have fallen into disrepair. The confusion over ownership of the Tramway end actually refers to a patch of land behind the tramway end, a small grass hill between it and the shopping centre.

The reason this hill was a problem in the sale to Liam Carroll was because it had already been sold to Albion (the owners of the shopping centre). This piece of land isn't necessary for the redevelopment of the Tramway stand, though Liam Carroll's apartment proposal used this piece of land as an important access point.

In terms of the Tolka v Dalymount issue - Shels have sold their lease on the stadium. I'm also not sure that Tolka requires less work. Tolka has 4 fairly poor stands, none are particularly worth of a stadium hoping to host youth internationals. Dalymount has one of the best stands in the league in the Jodi. The Shed end requires minimal work. The Connaught Street and Tramway stands both require full demolition and redevelopment, however, there's plenty of space to achieve this.

Tolka has a couple of big issues.

1 - Flooding from the Tolka river.
2- Access is terrible. The stadium has a single method of access (Richmond Road), making it quite difficult to organise from a Garda point of view. By comparison, Dalymount currently has 3 distinct methods of access (Cabra Road, Connaught Street and St Peter's Road).

I've heard very little discussion about a ground share in Tolka, but I know for a fact there's been continuous discussion with Dublin City Council about a ground share in Dalymount. Several local TDs have also given vocal support to maintaining Dalymount as a "recreation" land-use.

Heard rumours of the above as we'll as a potential ground share in Dalymount. Obviously this would be our third choice but if we go in as tennants of DCC same as Bohs then it would be better than the uncertain situation we are in at the moment.

Anyway, I won't believe until I start seeing plans and construction.

Would it not be tenants of the FAI? They would have to own the stadium.

Would prefer Dalymount to be upgraded.

Would prefer DalymountJohn Delaney Parkto be upgraded.

Are they going to be able to fit the 100 foot statute at the shopping center entrance?

Not necessarily. I think FAI purchase with some DCC grants would be the most likely scenario, but it wouldn't be that strange if it happened the other way around.

As we sang too Finn and McPhail tonight "Just a sh""t Richie Towell"

In fairness to the lad, he is the only player in the League (bar Murphy in goals) I could say would start in our 11

Prob get in for Mennan but he would struggle elsewere going forward

Daryl Horgan is the best player in the league!

LOL clearly more drunk than I am, fairly sure all of our champion players are an improvement over yours. Just getting them on the pitch at the same time is the problem :D

I would take Boyle as backup to Hoare tho.

I reckon if Pats played us tonight they would have been at least 4 or 5-1 up before HT..Once we scored we stopped playing, done same second half when we went 3-1 up...Good job they are ****

Nice of them to pay for a Temp stand that wasnt used (Green seats for them and all)
