Also, my geography teacher expected 7 people to get As and not one of us did (even the guy that got 9 As and 1 B).

Geography had the third lowest A rate of all the JC subjects at 8.6% (HL) / 8.5% (OL). Only Woodwork and Evironmental Studies had lower rates.

Im fairly happy with my results, except for English where i got a D, I'd usually get As and Bs in class and i even got a C in the mocks, i just dont understand how i went down a grade because its my favourite subject and i liked studying for it, Im not sure if i should appeal or if i should talk to my english teacher about because its really annoying me

Our geography teacher expected none of us to get A's, so nice. :pac:

The project work makes it hard to get As in ESS, as it's difficult enough to get an A in both projects and the exam.

English teacher wants me to appeal my B to an A but homestly I'm happy with a B and I've never gotten an A in english..only a B so I can't justify appealing €32...

If you're happy with your mark, don't waste your money.

I do! I was talking to the other two girls in my year who got 10 A's and we were all saying that we did all that work for just the one day...:( but I suppose it was worth it in the end :D

Haha well to admit I actually studied more for the mocks than the actual junior cert...I just crammed at the last minute well to say I did worse in the junior than mocks I got 4as in the mocks and 2 in the real deal but I think I got at least 4 high Bs out of the six I got...:)

Yeah! I got 7A's and 3B's! I thought the results would be a big deal for at least awhile but no one even cares after Wednesday :(

It's the same sort of anti-climax after the Leaving results, though most people have college offers to get excited about shortly after.

Got my Irish result a B yay! :D honestly I'm glad it's over! I'm not gonna appeal any of my results like it's behind me now I don't care anymore hahahaha

    3 A's, 6 B's and a C.

    Irish - H - C
    English - H - A
    Maths - H - B
    Business - H - B
    French - H - B
    Science - H - B
    Tech Graph - O - B
    CSPE - H - B
    History - H - A
    Geography - H - A

I nearly died when i saw the English A. My teacher kept giving me B's and C's for 3 years and this happens. First person I saw when I got it was her and she was shocked to say the least. Only 5 in my year got A's in English too :D

Ashamed to have gotten a B in CSPE as I can't think of anything I did wrong :/

Feel hard done by in French and Business as I came out of both very very confident of an A, especially business, I did it to a tee...but it's not worth worrying about xD

Only 1 person in our school got an A on irish, fair play :L. C's and D's prevailed and B's were treated like A's until we found out someone actually got one :P

Don't be ashamed of a B in CSPE - for some reason people think it's a definite A for everyone. It's not. I have been saying that on this forum for years, but still people think they will get an A.

About 1 in 5 get an A in CSPE - proportionally more get an A in Art and people go on about how hard an A in Art is.

Ashamed was perhaps a poor choice of words on my part, but in the mocks I got like 95% and it was a bit of a shock seeing as it felt very similar to our mock paper. But not that you can be ashamed of a B in anything :)

    About 100.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 746 ✭✭✭Mr Rhode Island Red

Only 6 A's in Business Studies (HL and OL) in total out of our year that had about 60 business students in total. Business teachers ain't happy.

One lad in my class failed CSPE. He admitted that his project was half-hearted but still he is blown away that he managed to fail the "infallible subject"

A lot of D's and C's among my friends as well. But a good scatter of A's in the year as well; mostly from people who got out of the "guaranteed-A-in-CSPE" mindset before it was too late

Oh, a lot of the results in our school were dreadful.

One guy got 9A's and a C (in English), another with 7A/3B, I got 4A/3B/3C/, one person got 2A's, a couple of people with 1A and then the rest just B's/C's/D'/E's.

Haha the teachers must be dreadful in my school a lot of people got As in English about 15 out of 130 I think. I got a C and im thinking if appealing as I thought I got a B.... haha those results in ur school are erratic that guy should appeal if he thought he got much higher.:)

The school are appealing all of the English exams for us because it looks dreadful on the teachers behalf. (tbh, I think the results are right, the English teachers didn't really teach per se"

What we did for our novel was read the whole thing and summarize every single chapter, no notes on how to approach the exam questions.
