Why don't we all drink human breastmilk?

I was thinking about this as I prepared my breakfast this morning. There I was, stirring the membranes from a hen's period into a steel bowl, along with the breastmilk of a cow. No, this wasn't some kinding of scientific test, I was going to whisk it, cook it, and eat it.

Here is a photograph of the reproductive tract of a hen, showing the period from ovulation to plop-out stage.

When you look at this, don't you think it's pretty weird that we find these membranes delicious and nutritious?

Why do we not think this is more strange?

We find human breastmilk repulsive, and yet find animal bodily fluids and ovarian membranes delicious.

Are you tempted to drink human breast milk? Why not?

What do you suggest we do for eggs?

And how do you propose we produce the large quantities of milk like that? I'm not sure women being milked on an industry scale might be realistic

Because my mother's breasts dried up long ago, it's like sucking a lump of coal now.

That's because you were born with no tongue, your poor mother.

I guess we're all socially conditioned to accept milk from cows. Wasn't there a thread not long ago about how rank milk from other countries is? So that conditioning is pretty fine-tuned I suppose; we accept milk from cows that eat grass; and it's grand. Milk produced from a human diet would be quite different I'm thinking.

Well this is AH; I don't exactly have a business plan.

I think the first obstacle is not finding human breastmilk so repulsive.

If it were possible to generate human breastmilk on a larger scale, I think it would be beneficial to the environment.

I'm not sure whether there are any big health benefits. Some men report health benefits, but nothing is proven.

Like i said, I would imagine the big benefit (if it were feasible) would be an environmental benefit. But I'm just curious as to why it's seen as repulsive to drink human breast milk, when we so readily consume the breastmilk and ovarian membranes of other species.

Production of cows milk involves the killing of most of the male and many of the female calves born to the cows by shooting them in the head.

There might be a slight public outcry to thousands of babies being killed daily.

Speak for yourself. I don't think breastmilk is at all repulsive. I had lots of extra milk stored with my second baby but she wouldn't take a bottle so I ended up making muffins with it. They were grand. Breastmilk is a lot fattier and sweeter than cows milk. For ladies who pump and dump after a night out I always wondered if it would be possible to make alcoholic breastmilk icecream!

The reason we don't consume human milk is because it's not produced in quantities large enough to satisfy demand. Also it would be considered cruel to take babies away from mothers and keep them in a state of permanent lactation for commercial gain. It's pretty cruel for cows and calves too as anyone who's had the misfortune to be exposed to recently separated cattle can attest.

I'd put human breastmilk in the same category as jizz. there's a time and a place for it.

Anyone ever had a breast milk rice pudding?

Because lactating on a scale to feed an infant is a pain in the tits never mind commercial consumption.
