    Every religion has these
No other big religion has the concepts of jihad and martyrdom at its core.

When was the last time a non-Islamic religious leader issued an order to every believer to kill a writer because he wrote a novel?

Muslims and anybody else religious for that matter has a right to practice their faith without any judgement from others if they choose to do so from their own free will.
    No judgement?
So they can sacrifice animals, scare their children with hell or behead apostates without even passing a judgement?

And not just religions, but that's hardly the point.

Why is there an Islamic insurgency trying to establish theocratic despotism in so many countries?

Comical Ali , here. The Guardian good enough for you?
Based on their populations, the figures for Belgium, the Netherlands and Ireland, with about 200 fighters between them, made these countries the most significant, the lead researcher, Prof Peter Neumann from the International Centre for the Study of Radicalisation (ICSR) at King's College, said.

European fighters made up to between 7% and 11% of the foreign contingent inSyria, which ranged between 2,000 and 5,500 people. The researchers also said there were likely to be at least 110 named Europeans engaged in fighting currently.

    You're wrong

    EVERY religion has its fanatics

    Whataboutery.

Does that excuse Muslims beheading Western journalists in Iraq, raping entire towns of white children in the UK, committing terrorist attacks in Western cities etc. Somehow I think the Muslims are a bit more troublesome the the Buddhists.

That is a really outrageous generalisation, these acts aren't carried out by 'Muslims' they're carried out by a small number of barbarians who happen to be Muslims.

Um, the terrorists currently causing mayhem across Syria and Iraq call themselves Islamic State. I can't really make it any more obvious to you - they are committing these atrocities in the name of Islam with the intent of establishing an Islamic caliphate and driving all infidels out or converting them to Islam.

They do not represent or act on behalf of all Muslims, but I think you know that.

I'm sure that's a comfort to the persecuted Iraqi Christians and Yazidis.

They claim they are acting on behalf of Muslims and they are explicitly committing the acts because they're Muslim. They wouldn't exist if Islam didn't exist.

The guy who beheaded the old lady in London can claim he's acted on my behalf.

    Doesn't make it true.

ISIS are currently at war with Shia Muslims, and also Kurds who are, if you don't know largely Sunni Muslim. So to suggest that ISIS are some how representative of all Islam, is pretty insulting to the people who also see themselves as Muslim, fighting them as we speak.

And you reply with sensationalism

Terrorist attacks in western cities are not just the remit of Muslims, maybe switch off Fox news and stop listening to people who use the word terrorist/ism in every sentence.

So in your world the IRA committed atrocities in the name of all Irish people? They spoke for you and your children and your parents and everyone you care about everytime they murdered someone?

Sure. Here is a pew research poll asking of muslims, among other things, their opinions on stoning for adultery, and their support for killing anyone that happens to leave the faith: http://i.imgur.com/vQkIN.jpg

No other religion has the same number of people with extreme beliefs. They don't give up these beliefs at the backage carousel at Dublin airport either btw.

If that is the case it should read that Ireland has 30 jihadist and not 1:1000 Muslims are jihadist.

Why all the Muslim fearmongering of late there was never any "1:1000 irish Catholics are pedofiles" headlines.
maybe because we need a bogy man to keep the gullible masses afraid so the government can take away our civil liberties bit by bit?

And in March the journal took a poll on the death penalty in Ireland

    h ttp://www.thejournal.ie/poll-agree-with-death-penalty-834671-Mar2013/

2462 disagree with the death penalty

790 (24%) agree with the death penalty

Does that mean 24% of Irish people are stone cold killers?

How many Irish people support the death penalty for leaving one of the Christian faiths? Bit of a difference in supporting the death penalty for someone convicted of murder and someone for leaving Islam.

ah here, stop pointing out that Islam is like Christianity with all sorts of different groups who think differently. They are 1 group coming to convert or kill us all once the Catholics are done with the children.

I am sure there are plenty of moderate Muslims in Denmark but it did not prevent violence over a few cartoons. Where were the moderates when the Rotherham rapes were happening? Do the moderates live in France's 700+ no-go zones? Did the moderates prevent the bombing the Jewish community centre in Malmo? Did the moderates save Theo Van Gogh? Did the existence of moderates change the rape statistics in Oslo? Did the existence of moderates prevent infiltration of the Birmingham school system? Where were the moderate Muslims when 34 Irish based Muslims decided to go over to the middle east and wage Jihad?

Here's a pew research poll on Muslims and their support for Sharia Law amongst other things: http://cdn.static-economist.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/full-width/images/2013/04/blogs/graphic-detail/20130504_gdc518_0.png

An awful lot of them don't seem very moderate to me. A lot more than a 'tiny minority'.
