    Early days as you say.

I wonder if we will see Olding at 10 and Marshall at 12 later on in the game.

I'd really like to see that. from previous posts he is 12/10 rather than 12/13 type. Correct?
Also looking forward to seeing him and Payne in the centre

He can play a number of positions. 15 is also an option.

So can Madigan. But I would see Madigan as 10/12 type. I presume long term that is where we will see Olding?

Who knows really. He's more than good enough to have a shot at any of them, will depend where we need him most.

That's a good start for Van Der Merve

    Good game so far.

If the Scarlets jersey wasn't filled with sponsors it'd be lovely.

Olding inches away from a try, literally tapped by a whisker.

Damn that would have been a dream try for Olding on his return

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,805 ✭✭✭Swan Curry

    That's a ridiculous call.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,308 ✭✭✭✭.ak

    Olding again ripping things up.

No try tho... Joke. I really don't rate fitzgibbon as a ref.

Paul Marshall would need a stepladder to make a proper high tackle.

    Pienaar can't return soon enough.

Just to brighten up all your Sunday nights as the fear sets in it is being claimed by someone on Uafc that Hendo is probably out until the new year.

    Feckity feckity feck.

    http://www.herald.ie/sport/rugby/les-will-kiss-goodbye-to-ulster-in-midoctober-30573762.html

"The IRFU may have got more than it bargained for when it pushed the move of Les Kiss to Ulster as Director of Rugby on an interim basis.

The timeline has been set in stone. Ulster have until mid-October to find a long-term head coach before they kiss goodbye to Ireland's defence coach.

Kiss has been penciled in to return to his Ireland duties by then so that he can prepare properly for the November internationals with no intention to return to Ulster, thereafter, as the 2015 World Cup looms largest. "

    What a mess.

Has there even been any rumours of interviews or short listing, it's all been very quiet!

Another thing is that both the Currie Cup and the ITM Cup, which I presume would be the hunting grounds for Ulster, don't end until mid to late October.

The only name I saw elsewhere was Wayne Smith but I think that was just idle speculation.

I thought we'd have Kiss for the season, if we have to bring someone in in October that's going to really narrow the options. It's either that or have yet another interim appointment.

Why not give the join to Kiss?

You mean give the job to Kiss?

I don't think he'd be the right long-term option, aside from the fact that I don't think the IRFU or Schmidt would let him go in a world cup year.

Permanently double jobbing is out of the question and I can't see Ireland/Schmidt allowing Kiss to leave after already changing forwards coach.

There seems to be a lot of confidence from.some on uafc that Wayne Smith has already been appointed.

Not sure why it hasn't been announced in that case.

Seems unlikely. He turned down higher profile positions.

I can't help but giggle everytime I see Kingspan Stadium, and I don't know why. Just reminds me of bread.
