Best Building/Structure in Ireland?

    My favourite is probably Kilkenny Castle, it just looks so imposing and has so much history behind it.

    Honourable mentions go to Glenveagh Castle in Donegal (because of its amazing setting located in the middle of a national park by a lake) and Florence Court in Fermanagh

    King Johns Castle in Limerick is pretty impressive, especially when lit up at night.

    I can't think of a single modern building.

    Compared to others mentioned it's not that old but I always think Kylemore Abbey with its setting perched over the lake looks fabulous.

    Bunratty castle,Cork,

    Really there are hundreds of castles and big houses around the whole country which would deserve a mention,as poster above said kylemore Abbey in Galway is hauntingly beautifull IMO.

    In Cork city I like the City Hall & the Quad in ucc.

    Old building: Ballyfin. Nothing else to match it in Ireland bar maybe Lismore Castle, but I haven't been inside Lismore so dunno what kind of condition its in indoors...anyone know?

    Newish building: The criminal court in Dublin.

    Honourable mention for Sam Beccett bridge and the bridge over the Boyne on the M1whatever thats called.

    Rock of cashel just looks so amazing as you go by it. Iv been to it and architecturally the monestry is nice, but the setting is what makes it.
