The most likely scenario is that the UK will pay the full amount of UK child benefit to you, and the Irish SW will pay additional money - a 'top up' to bring you to the same amount you would get if you were living in Ireland.

It's usually paid to the mother, but when the parents don't live together it's usually paid to the parent who's caring for the children for the majority of the time, so if that's you it can be paid to you, provided that you satisfy the conditions. If the child resides 50% of the time with each parent, the mother is paid.

In your case it could be that your ex was already claiming before she moved away (& possibly still is), so that would need to be clarified though she should have advised DSP of any change in circumstances. If you contact Child Benefit Section or your local Intreo Centre or your local Social Welfare Office they should be able to advise & help you.
