    A man has appeared in court in Belfast charged with a six-month campaign of voyeurism.

    Stanley Strange is accused of observing a woman carrying out private acts without her consent for the purpose of sexual gratification.

    The 57-year-old defendant, of Richmond Gardens in Newtownabbey, Co Antrim, allegedly committed the offence on various dates between September 2012 and March 2013.

    Appearing before Belfast Magistrates' Court dressed in a dark suit and grey tie, Mr Strange spoke only to confirm he understood the charge.

    No details were given on how the alleged voyeurism took place.

    A prosecution lawyer said a decision has still to be made on whether the case should remain in the Magistrates' Court or be sent to the Crown Court.

    Mr Strange was released on continuing bail to return to court in four weeks time.
