Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Does anyone know if you have to pay the registration fees by the third of september with the giro or can you just pay on registration day out of pocket?

It says on the website that it needs to be paid with the giro before arriving at the college.

Yeah, I need a student loan because I'm slightly over the income threshold for the grant.

Just bring any letters from SUSI that say you've applied for the grant and you'll be fine. As long as they know you've applied you wont need to pay anything til about January, by which point you'll have likely received the grant anyway.

I contacted SUSI about reg fee and they gave same advise but to also contact admissions to explain....which I did and they told me that I would have to pay half of it, ie €1350 and that it would be reimbursed to me once grant comes through, yikes!

Oh and by the way if you've applied for the grant you don't have to pay the registration fees, you just have to bring up proof that you've applied for the grant with you when you're starting. Is anyone else starting on Monday?

How is bioscience? My son wants to do it Sep 2015 (only cause he loved biology). Hours per week/lecturers? He started a mechanical eng course in NI in Sep 2014 but is really struggling due to maths content. Got 415 LC points. Feeling confused at the minute. Just turned 18 and doesn't want to make a wrong choice again. Any info - pros and cons - would be appreciated.
