Time for Delaney to earn his wage, or failing that, get his cheque book out.

    Sorry, what???

Why should John Delaney take the blow for the actions of a number of Dundalk fans? Dont get me wrong, I dislike Mr. Delaney and the FAI as much as any other LOI fan, but the Dundalk fans were told half an hour BEFORE kick off by security and the owner, that if the flag was flown there would be punishment, and they still flew it.

Calm down. I was being facetious.

Rene Gilmartin gone to Watford (not Waterford)

    Must have some agent tbh
    Watford Talk ‏@WatfordTalk 49m
@watfordfcsays I think this is the first time I've literally laughed out loud at an announcement of a player signing.

    From RTE.ie

RTÉ will show 78 live SSE Airtricity League Premier Division and FAI Ford Cup games as part of a new agreement with the Football Association of Ireland, which runs from now until November 2018.
In addition, RTÉ will broadcast all of the Republic of Ireland’s qualification matches in the UEFA EURO 2016 qualification campaign, which kicks off on Sunday, 7 September, against Georgia in Tbilisi, and highlights of all home international friendly matches.
Soccer Republic will also continue to cover domestic and international football on Monday evenings.
Commenting on the news, FAI chief executive John Delaney said: “I want to thank RTÉ for their continued support of Irish football, both in the SSE Airtricity League and our international matches.

Are the clubs getting anything out of it? Or is it just the FAI?

Sounds good and sound likes 70 games a season but the wording is ambiguous. Could be 70 games over 4 seasons, which is the length of the agreement.

Think I read somewhere that it's over 3 years

Would prefer Pats not to be on TV.

There's nothing ambiguous about it, it's definitely not 70 games a season. That would work out at basically two games a week for the duration of the season which is hardly a likely scenario?

I think consistent coverage could be really beneficial. As it is we go weeks (even months sometimes?) without a live game on the box which only adds to the perception of the league to non-believers as something flimsy, amateur and half-formed. A game a week (even one every two weeks) would be something reliable and solid to build on.

Wish they'd stop televising the games

It's obviously 78 games over the next 3 and a half seasons. Why would RTE ever show 78 games per season when they currently show less than 15?
RTE would rather not show the LOI at all, the only reason they do is because the FAI put rhthe league in as part of the international team tv rights.
Remember though, we've heard this before. RTE promised to broadcast 33 league games last season. They ended up showing 12-15.

Just the FAI, clubs used to before the FAI took over the running of the League.

Hopefully all three missing on Friday. Fahey would be no loss in my opinion. Hasn't looked the same player as he did in last spell

Fahey and Fagan both rejected offers from England on Tuesday? Chesterfield and Huddersfield respectively.

Do you know if they were rejected by the club or the players?

Fahey rejected his afaik, no idea on Fagan but think Pats laughed at what Chesterfield were offering. Dreamers on here will know the exact offers down to the cent and what minute of the day they were placed.

€20,000 and Fagan still has a year to run on his contract but will most likely leave at Xmas.

Not sure of the exact time, i will find out for you.
