    Dickwod.
Was your headlights on? I cant see a reflection on the road or oncoming cars. Yet those who did have them on were very apparent. Maybe its under exposure on the cam recording, but it seemed like a good time to keep your lights on in those poor conditions.

Maybe being more visible would have prevented that moron from cutting you up.

A good argument for mandatory head lights in all conditions and cars being hardwired to light up when ignition is on. Like modern motorcycles.

I drive with my lights on morning noon and night.

    Headlights/DLRs or parking lights?

During the day parking lights and fog lights as drl's at night headlights only.

Also just to point out you cant see my full beams on in the video either, even though I flashed and beeped because of the maneuver.

Glad to hear that it's not parking lights alone, one of those things that annoy the hell out of me. On many cars, they're only bright enough to be seen in the dark and are totally useless at increasing the cars visibility in daylight.

Drivers using parking lights alone think that they're more visible, but they ain't!

Agreed, I'm driving with my lights on all the time 10 years or more, it just makes sense!

Same here, only down side is that I go through more bulbs.

Or I used to until I retrofitted a set of LED DLRs that come on when the lights are off. In other words during all the daytime driving.

Well it's impossible to say from the video how wide is the gate. Golf's manuever seems allright to me. He indicates well in advance, and takes wide turn. For me it looks like he enters this gate often (probably everyday) and knows exactly how much swing he needs to take.

Camera car though, was trying to do something strange though. Seen golf in front of him indicating left, and once golf moved towards right lane, he tries to undertake it.
Why would someone even consider trying to undertake vehicle signalling left?

    it's quite narrow

you'd presume they live there or know that it's narrow otherwise they wouldn't have swung a bit to the right

I was only looking at these yesterday thinking of replacing my fog lamps ... http://www.osram.com/osram_com/news-and-knowledge/automotive-special/automotive-design-lamps---eye-catchers-with-that-stylish-look/automotive-lighting---stylish-and-trendy/fog-lights-retrofit-or-upgrade-to-led/ledriving-fog---led-fog-lights/index.jsp

Yeah. It looks really narrow, and that explains perfectly why Golf had to swing that far from the right.
I still think camera car driver was taking a p1ss by trying to undertake vehicle signalling left turn.

    Hey lads

How quickly would you expect the Trafficwatch people to follow up on something reported to them ?

I called them about the Nangor Road Punto thing on 22-Aug, then called them back myself on 25-Aug with the full registration plate details, but have heard nothing since. They did say that it was with Clondalkin Garda Station to decide whether or not to follow up on, but I would have expected it to be something that happens within a day or two of the report going in.

2 red light breakers, couldn't wait for the green

Looks like numpty A at the front stopped too far forward to see the traffic light and numpty B followed due to sheep syndrome :)

I rang them a few weeks back. Got a call from the Garda station it was sent to about 40 minutes after I made the initial call, to say they'd talked to the car owner and warned them,

In my experience, it can vary greatly, depending on the station, the issue and the individual Garda. If you want to push it, you could write to the local Supt or the Asst Comm for Dublin. Or you could try pushing it via the Garda Traffic Twitter account.

I've reported 2 incidents in the past few years, (one where I was verbally threatened, all on camera after a fella forced me around a roundabout or I'd have hit him beeped he slammed on the brakes jumped out and threatened to rearrange my face). I was told to press charges because they now cannot give out a telling off for it.

I suspect the gardai told you porkies.

That red light breaker, shows that in some instances there is a need for a flashing amber for the left turn. I'm not defending the fact that he broke a red light, but you can see clearly that his manoeuvre posed no risk to anyone.

They can't give a telling off as that would be taking your word as gospel, but they can "investigate" the incident, talk to the driver, find out their version of events and educate the driver that if they were driving as described they could end up in alot of trouble etc.

Not even a mirror was harmed in those clips.

Have to say the coach driver had some skill to keep that monster on the road with the back end kicking out.

All I can say is wow and how lucky those tools were.

Yeah that's what they did in my case - they talked to him. Cabinteely Garda station.

It's like they have some sort of death wish.

Report them to Gardai for breaking red light, report them to litter warden for littering.

Should be a lovely day for them when they get contacted about both ;)
