Ariva 150 combo defaulting itself

    Hi All
    I have posted in the ariva thread but no takers yet

    I am looking for the steps to save the current channel list as the default
    as father in law's box keeps defaulting itself
    and I reckon if i can save the current list ( a backup on a usb key that i keep reloading ) as the default then he wont even notice that it has defaulted
    this is happening every week

    Well I have learned one thing
    If I go into upgrade by usb and try to dump default and select the backup.abs file on the usb it loads the file to the box and trashes it :D
    Now get no boot at all just ASH on the display
    i believe the firmware is now corrupt :eek:

    So for all you boys and girls dont try this at home

    Downloaded the erom tool & firmware from the ferguson site
    Flashed it with a serial cable and now the box is back up and running have restored the back up I had on usb
    but still no closer to saving this as the default database
