The Ulster Chess Championships 2014: Europa Hotel. August 23-25th 2014.

The Ulster Chess Championships is a 3 day event taking place over August Bank Holiday Weekend August 23rd, 24th and 25th 2014 at Europa Hotel. We look forward to seeing you there!

Venue: Europa Hotel, Belfast
Format: 6 round swiss
Entry Fee: £20 (£15 if made prior to Weds 20th August 2014). Players must be registered with UCU (Full £10 Concession £5) for year 2013-2014.
In the event of players finishing on equal points a tie-breaking system will be applied for titles and money prizes. (First tie-break will be Median Buchholz followed, if necessary, by Buchholz, then most wins and then progressive scores.)

Time control:
Senior: 1 hour 30minutes (plus 30 second increment - recording all moves)
Intermediate and Junior will use same time control as Senior if sufficient digital clocks are available. If not, time control will be 1 hour 45 minutes for all moves.
Players will be defaulted if they arrive more than 30 minutes after the start of the round.

Senior over 1700
Intermediate 1400-1700
Junior under 1400 and unrated
(Players may request to play in a higher band - this will be at the directors discretion)
Prizes: Precise prize fund will be formulated and published on Day 1.
