    It's Friday evening.

You see what happens when Fri-Sat is your weekend on permanent basis:D

    The rest is true.

I think I (mistakenly) took some of the posts as an excuse to what the little Punto did.

The worst part is I did the mistake twice:o

Needless to say I do not own a Punto, and the actions of this idiot should have been reported.

Let's move on, the best Irish dashcam so far so let's not ruin it.

I hate being sober on Sat evening, you lose a sense of humour...

Well, no one is trying to find excuse for what punto driver did.
We are just trying to think what was he thinking, or what was he planning.

Situations where someone tries to overtake and misjudges, are plenty on youtube. Easy to understand though - mistake of misjudgement.
But this guy is different - hard to work out what was he actually trying to do.

That is why when I first saw these posts I was like WTF.

There is no explanation and the driver is a moron of highest order.

    He wasn't thinking anyway.

Sorry for quality, always happens when uploading to youtube. The speed is also inaccurate.

I've been driving an invisible car lately

In the first video the other car was already moving out when you rounded the corner. The second one was a chancer though, did you have headlights or DLRs on(not side/parking lights - these give a false sense of visibility!)

There is a friend that i sometimes get a lift from and I don't think that when she is in traffic she has ever been the first person to stop at the lights. If the bozo in front of her goes the red light she just sails on through with not a bother in the world no matter what else is going on.

I pointed out the error of her ways and she just shrugged it off.

I always make a point of sitting in the back and try to never look out the windows, its just scary.

I don't think so, look at it again. He actually only started pulling out when the other car started pulling in.

I drive that road everyday and that happens maybe twice a week. Same thing at a junction further along for the turn in for Westmanstown fitness centre.

I nearly came to a compete stop, if your going to pull out at least build up a bit of speed.
I had my dipped beam on as usual. You need to pull out slightly at that corner to get a view of oncoming trafic, that bmw seemed to pull out in 5th gear

I would say the pedestrian is part of the problem on this one (not excusing the Jag driver). She should stand and wait for the cars to stop at a zebra crossing. After all there will be only one winner. She may have been 'in the right' with a broken leg.

Pedestrians should not have to wait for cars to stop at zebra crossings unless its very late at night, this is ten past one in the day if the time is correct, and there are tons of pedestrians crossing like her before and after the clip.

At a zebra crossing cars are driving over a footpath and pedestrians have the right of way.

Yes I realise that but that won't help you when you're under a car. You can have the right of way all you want but I prefer to make sure I am not run over.

At a zebra crossing cars are driving over a footpath and pedestrians have the right of way.
after they have checked that the road is clear and they can safely "claim" the right of way without causing an incident.

Again, cars are crossing a foothpath, its not pedestrians crossing a road ...

    Zebra crossing
Use the following places to cross the road safely.
This is marked by yellow flashing beacons. The actual crossing area is marked by black and white 'zebra' stripes.
Drivers must stop to let you cross. As they approach the crossing, they should slow and be prepared to stop. They must stop behind the stop line if there is one and must not enter any part of the crossing.

Again, they can't simply walk out in the path of an oncoming car!

Zebra crossing one. I reckon the pedestrian could have been behind the windscreen pillar of the car and didn't see her until last minute.

No film away, probably better off saying nothing, some gards get very arsey if they know they are being filmed but you are under no obligation to tell them.

I was nearly knocked down myself at that same crossing about 3 weeks ago. Was out shopping with girlfriend and some ol' bitch in Merc sailed through missing us by a fraction.

Thanks just wanted to know :) , always taught u had to tell them there been recorded due to privacy issues or something :) them dash cams are the job , most insurance company's should make it obligatory to have them installed :)

In a public space, filming is fair game. Legally speaking, you've no expectation of privacy in public.

The only issue you might have is if you're filming on private property without permission.
