It plays chill out/ambient stuff and you can activate another stream on the same page that has the police radio from different cities to play over it. It's weirdly relaxing.

    Tunein.com is great as well.

They have a station from the canary islands called Qfm which is class. Plenty of good blues stations too.

    Bar-rockin-blues being my favourite!

I bought an internet radio a few years ago, and the only thing I ever listen to on it is BBC Radio 4.

Go into the accessibility settings on your computer and set it to read out the on-screen text (as if for someone visually impaired). Stay in the After Hours forum. It's just like chat radio. People's opinions on the dole are fascinating.

Depends on what you are into really.

I have (boringly for many I suppose) BBC R4, World service, NPR, and many US stations that crack me up on a bad day.

Started listening to that recently and I actually don't hate it. Though I don't listen to music much.

    GAH!

    TUNEIN is not a station!

Second Tunein. Best thing since sliced bread.

But podcasts are great too. From all over the world in the language you speak of course. All genres and topics. Couldn't be without either Tunein or podcasts now.

    Sad or good!

    Highland Radio.

Nothing better than coming in from a hard Vegas night's gambling, drinking and bullsh1tting saleswoman from North Dakota, than firing up the Nexus in the hotelroom in time for the obituaries and the Shaun Doherty show.

I don't think the poster said that.

You can, ahem...tune in to stations all over the world via Tunein.

That rock station in Amarillo is pretty good too, can't remember the name of it now, riddled with ads sometimes though, like all US stations.

That's your internet connections fault, not the radio.

I don't wish any offence to the Christian radio shows looking for money.

But by. Jesus they are gas.

It's amazing to think of what the internet has done for us. With the advent of the photograph there was fearmongering that people were going to stop reading. With the advent of the radio there was a lot of fearmongering that people were going to stop reading books, magazine and newspapers. With the advent of the TV there was a lot of fearmongering that people were going to stop listening to radio. With the advent of the internet there was fearmongering that people were going to stop doing anything of worth at all.

With the internet we initially saw more people reading text, be it blogs, news sites, forums or full novels. Then we saw people looking at more photographs and images, be they pictures of cute puppies, nudes, funnies, art or photographs that shook the world. We've seen radio take off again with podcasts, global broadcast of local stations, special interest radio and even music stations tailored to your personal style. Now we're seeing video become apparent with video on demand, TV shows being around the world within hours, not months, we have video conferencing and people making videos of everything from the hilarious to the inspiring.

The internet is a wonderful thing.
